It says ECT, it's included on every auto 3rd gen taco. I would like an "eco/normal/sport" switch though.

He doesn't have this problem because he drives the manual version. I love my ECT button but my wallet hates it

But it was a manual. My post clearly states auto. Auto 1st gen's were absolute dogs.

Oh i'd bet! Last manual i drive was the old ford ranchero. I didn't know it was possible to get 5 miles per gallon on an 60s inline 5. Apparently it is with a manual haha

Not as much power as the raptor 3.5, but I'd hope it's a lot lighter being in a car.

I believe that is for transmission map only, not the drive by wire map which defines the throttle angle vs the accelerator pedal position. In other words, that ECT holds a gear until a higher RPM (alters the transmission shift map), but the initial throttle tip in behavior of the throttle plate to the accelerator input would still have the programmed delay. Transmission map and throttle map are likely independent.

You're exactly right. Same on my buddies lexus. It keeps the rpm's in the engines powerband. Problem is the delay is there. The funny thing is drivers like me naturally fight the delay. this actually leads to a more heavy foot -> worse fuel economy. Not sure what drivers they had in mind.

Twin turbos on the 3.5.. they must be doing away from the exhaust manifold being inside the engine block.

That is a significant amount of energy being removed

Who makes them? I have a k and n but that isn't a ram design. it's all open.

Everyone with the delay- URD makes a sprint booster (of course which stops at 2015...) which alters the pedal signal in order to make it much more instantaneous. plug and play...

OP yer new here... all good I was messin with ya Bro.....we had a nice "discussion" the other day about ram air that ended in the OP getting the patented Ram Air Ban Hammer...

You want more power and better pedal response get a MT, cat back exhaust and the TRD intake which includes the K&N/TRD air filter. I have a Magnaflow exhaust and the rest of that... I'm good with power. Actually very good... as mentioned, this engine likes to be revved up to where the power is and that's above 3K rpms. Once you're there you won't feel low on power. Getting there ain't that tough either.

i ordered a sprint booster a month ago and it came with the wrong harness so i returned it. then i ordered the Pedal Commander to try it, and guess what... it came with the wrong connector as well. waiting on the exchange to arrive, maybe today. can't wait to report back and see if this changes the MT driving dynamics a bit. hoping it may be something like a shortcut for a tune that's not available yet.

Sounds like that manual transmission is awesome. How heavy is the clutch?

Yup i'm new- didn't get the joke. Hopefully i'll be here for a while. It's fun to talk cars with people who know car talk
