Just for fun I checked to see how much Vroom would give me for my 2021 SR5 DCLB. Their offer is $3K more than I paid for the truck back in June. I put a LoMax cover on the back and a power lock for the tailgate but even with that it's still $2K or so more. On top of that since I traded in a 2019 F250 which more than covered the cost of the Tacoma there was no sales tax. I guess the dealer gave me a decent deal and they also gave me what Vroom offered for the F250.

The only thing I miss on the SR5 is the blind spot monitor and cross traffic alert like on my Subaru. Need to think if I should wimp out and go ahead and sell it and buy another one that has this stuff. :) Don't know if it's worth the hassle since I'm pretty happy with the truck otherwise.

New and used car prices have all increased. If you sell your truck you'll just be paying more for something else.

Is the power tailgate lock the Toyota OEM? How difficult was the install? How long did it take?
I "ordered" a DC TRD off road and listed the power tailgate lock and it looks like it came through without it, so I am thinking about adding it my self.

Took me about 1 hr and a broken clip. The oem stuff is nice but there are some things that are annoying

you mean pay msrp on a new truck? I'm in Hawaii and even with the shortages we got 1200 off of a Rav4 we ordered. Could even do the Costco deal and save a bit more...

I refuse to buy new another vehicle at this point. I was going to trade in my "beater" 2009 Nissan Murano with 75,000 miles. It still runs good. I feel sorry for the poor fellow that needs a cheap used vehicle because they are going to get even more scarce and expensive.

Got the Toyota one and the install was straight forward. It just took a bit of force to get the kick panel off for the wiring. There are videos you can watch.

That's assuming you need to climb the car ladder. One could sell and just buy a $2000 Mk3 Jetta with a 2.0 and a five speed.

There's going to be a lot of sore assholes if the bottom falls out of the market.

This is true. I'm just glad I bought my truck when prices were low. I would hate to be in the market for a vehicle right now

Costco doesn’t do the deal on all models and the Rav4 xse is one of those, but the dealer here did us a deal comparable, Threw in some floor mats and cargo liner too…

Edit: I was recommending the op do the Costco deal if dealer won’t budge on price.
