    Great job!
I'm gonna try a cheaper route with the etching cream. Will post pics when I get that done (after it stops raining and snowing here!)

Or you could just cut the image out of "window etch" vinyl. Exact same look, but removable.

it only cost 25 bucks for the blaster and sand. i was also going to use the cream but i didnt know what it might do to the paint once you wash your truck.

I bought some etching cream and made a stencil out of 3m removable (low-no residue) film, applied it to an old storm window, cut the stencil out, and tried it. Worked pretty well, but I doubt that it is as deeply etched as the sand scribes it. The cream wiped right off with a damp paper towel then I washed it with plain water. Pretty simple. But....I would protect the truck much like you did when you prepared to blast. The cream is fairly thick and runs only slightly in vertical. I will make sure I mask and protect the surrounding areas well.

I'm not going to worry about resale on the truck. I'll probably die before this truck does.

Etching cream just does the etching of the glass. There's nothing to "runoff" further down the line.

Did you make your own design or buy them?
I really like the "Tacoma" and the "Emblem" etches.
