Morimoto Elite HID System and LED Fogs for your '16+ Tacoma

Do you have links? I'm looking for an alternative.

 

I am on the phone with Retrofit as I type this post.... According to Jamel, the 2016 Tacoma kit has been shipping with the new XB3 bulbs (black bulb wires) for the 5500 for the last 2 weeks.

Of course I'll check once they arrive, but as of now, I take him for his word.

 

So your saying the group buy will include the new XB3 bulbs? TRS andrew said the XB3's are not shipping for the H11 kit, he posted this not too long ago in the group buy thread.

So the XB3 bulbs is the same as the h11b or fits??

 

As I posted above, per my discussion with Jamel at The Retrofit Source at 10:41 this morning - the 5500 kit comes with the new XB3 bulb. I specifically called to change my order (as needed) and was told directly that it already included the new XB3 bulbs (black bulb wires).

I even had him reiterate it a second time at the end of the call to confirm what he said so there was absolutely no misunderstanding on my part.

If thats the case, then I'll contribute to the group buy.

 

I have the black harness, if that means i have the xb3.... i am still getting a very minimal amount of vibration and light movement on hard bumps.

 

Well it needs to not move. So I guess the XB3 doesn't solve the problem

 

Try googling "hid bouncing" or something similar. There are tons of links where people are asking the same question about HID vibration in vehicles other than Tacomas. The light line emitted by a hid/projector is so precise that any movement and it's super noticeable. You'll even find some links talking about factory HID systems jiggling. There is probably always going to be some sort of movement with the light no matter how tight it's installed.

 

If I hit a hard bump in our BMW which has factory projector HID headlights, I can see some movement. As @jimbojr stated, the cutoff in projectors creates such a definitive point to focus on, its easy to see.

 

Christmas came early lol, let the operation MORE LIGHT COMMENCE! Got these bad boys from the dealership on the way home. Now I wonder of @TRSAndrew will do a group buy on the led fogs? Or if they are going to have any black Friday deals or holiday deals?

Your idea is good but they aren't talking about Toyota. These are other car companies so the concept cannot applied to this problem since they are different manufacturers.

 

Just ordered a set of XB Fog lights for my 2016! Thanks @TRSAndrew for the sweet deal! Also just got my Fog light bezels in from the dealership the other day so all i need is a wiring harness and switch for the truck!

 

The fix would be to go to a projector retrofit, as it's designed for the specific bulbs you install in the new projectors. Something like the RX350 Non-AFS would be a direct swap for the stock halogen projectors and will far out-perform them.
