So no one that has these can say if they are made in China? I would expect it to say it on the box...

If you google morimoto you can find their actual site and it shows pictures of Asian people engineering these light systems.

I just installed the 5500k kit this weekend and notice mine vibrate when going over small imperfections while going down the road. I have already sent TRS an email about it, waiting to hear back from them..

well I got the new kit which was everything except ballasts and ignitors, still doesn't light up the driver's side every single time.

After installing the new pieces, I then swapped the ballasts and ignitors since those are the only parts left from the original kit....probably stays on driver's side.

The new kit still has the friggen "factory harness" pinned backwards, so that it easily can slip out of contact with the factory headlight wiring.....and the driver's headlight only comes on sometimes.

I'll call them again tomorrow but this is just not cool.

I can take the ballast wire straight to the battery and it'll light the bulb like this

the below line is me touching holding the positive wire on the battery and touching the negative wire to the battery testing to see if it lights up the bulb.

on on on on nope, nope, nope nope nope.....wait 30 seconds.......on on on on on

swap ballasts...pretty much same results, it'll light up sometimes, then stop lighting up, then work again. and this is with their brand new bulb style and bulb wiring style.

Last bit of oddity, the headlights work (badly) regardless if your power is hooked up correct or reverse polarity....does that make sense to anyone?

Possibly time for a refund and then transition to another brand. Wiring issues, multiple returns by others and bulb vibration issues are what scared me away from this product.

Nope, mine worked great and are crazy bright compared to the stock halogens. Cutoff is outstanding for these projectors as well, I was right beside a newer MDX on the way home and my cutoff was sharper and the lights were brighter than his.

    I couldn't be happier!

I think I will look elsewhere for an HID kit. Too many issues that you shouldnt have to deal with.

After having all the issues last night with the driver's side not staying on, I decided...screw it, just wire tie up all the wiring and see if it works under real world conditions instead of just continuing to test it over and over again.....I drove the truck 5 times last night and this morning, and each time it worked just fine. So, perhaps there should be a warning..."if you're the type of person who likes to test fit everything and make sure it works before buttoning it up....just install it and try it first"

That being said I did test fit the first kit, it didn't work right, I drove it, it failed many times during the drive, this time, same failures appeared during testing but none during actual driving so far.

I'm a little perplexed but as long as it keeps working then I'm happy.

well my DRL just burned out 1/2 way....made a thread about it and lol at the responses.

There was 1 valueable piece of input which brings the question, is the HID bulb burning hotter then the regular bulb...hot enough to somehow cause a failure in the DRL?

I hightly doubt it, I figure it was a cold solder and just broke, it broke when the headlights were not on. I removed the kit and took the truck to toyota, they're replacing the whole headlight. they said it could have been caused by the hood work that they did but they don't know, nor do they really seem like they're looking to blame anyone he was just mentioning it.

Its hard to tell in your pics, it says featuring Philips bulbs. Is Philips etched on the glass tube? And what brand is the ballasts? DO these say "Made in China" any where?

Usually HID bulbs are a lot cooler, it's the ballast that is the part that's a lot hotter. Hence the ribbed tops for heat disbursement. Your DRL issue is likely just one that failed, which isn't uncommon on LED's in general. Just put the stock bulbs back in like was suggested and get warranty if you are concerned.

I have to seriously disagree with saying leds just happened to go out. Although it is a possibility it just went out but leds are near lifetime reliability.
