In this last pic is that low beam? Cant tell in the pic if the beam is high, do you get flashed by oncoming drivers? Puts out a nice light pattern.

Just for everyone's information - the 4500k bulbs from TRS fit very tightly - at least the set I received. The 5500k are much looser, but the 4500k's are PERFECT. No need to swap seals or anything else - they just work. I just disabled a set of 5500k bulbs so that I could get a replacement set from TRS due to one of the bulbs not being manufactured properly, thus creating a less than ideal beam.

4500/5500 is color temperature, theres no difference in fitment physically between the two unless you are using different manufacturers and the sockets are slightly different. The more I read and past experiences tell me not to buy chinese crap!

Was this directed at me? I own both 4500k and 5500k Morimoto bulbs. The fitment is NOT the same between the two on the 2016 Tacoma. That's all I can say. The bulbs use different connectors for that matter, requiring the short intermediate harness to be swapped out.

I'm patiently waiting to see how all this works out as well. I figured this was better equipment. If by going by the price alone, it should be. I've always bought HID's through DDM and never had an issue....ever. And I knew that was cheaper Chinese equipment without a doubt.

Well, pretty much sums it up for me. I want 5500K and you're saying they fit like dung so I guess this isn't the equipment for me.

The ones I had in my fog's in my 4runner from DDM were bulletproof as well. Cheap as hell too!

Is running relays required on this truck? I've never had to use relays in the past and never had a problem.

They could fit better. They were usable in my truck, but one bulb was not manufactured properly which was decreasing it's output compared to the other bulb. I think the truck looks great with 4500k's anyhow.

I hate to keep using another supplier or manufacturer's name but I have to refer back to my own experience. DDM offers relay kits with all of their hid offerings. But it's offered as an option and I've never purchased and used relays and never had a problem. I know everyone with the morimoto kits are using the relays they are provided. I'm simply wondering if relays are required.

Ive had HI/LOW xenon HIDs from DDM. I bought 3 sets for like $100 or so. They took 3 weeks to get here and was direct from the chinese post office, there wasnt one word of english on the package other than my name and address. I had warranty issues and DDM in LA was like a detail or stereo shop, they never answered the phone or stepped up when they needed to. Im leaning towards the Philips or Osram German made ballasts and bulbs. About an extra $120 but the fit and finish will be worth it to me.

That is the low beam. Haven't been flashed once. I didn't adjust the beam from factory and at a stop light the top of the beam is right around the trunk lip on the average sedan in front of me. Factory suspension...no lift. I think the camera has a hard time with the light. Taken on an iPhone 6s.

...And I have since driven the bouncy interstate and several gravel roads and don't detect any bouncing bulbs. Like the poster stated about his bulbs...mine fit tight. It does sound weird to have a certain temp. bulb not fit correctly. sounds like someone on the Chinese factory line had a hangover and sent out a lot of poorly cut bulbs.

Ok, according to people on this thread that are using the morimoto equipment, the customer service isn't much better. I've used DDM's on three different vehicles and never used the previously purchased kits on the new vehicles. Never had one glitch.

Anyone ever figure out the issue with the passenger side bulb not igniting 100% of the time? Mine will work fine for days and hundreds of miles. Then all of a sudden I can start the truck and have to flip the switch 20 times to get the passenger side to light up. Bulb will flicker, but then shut back off.

Are you using the relay that goes from the battery directly to both bulbs?
When I installed my Morimoto's VLEDS said to make sure and install the relay that sends power to the lights directly from the battery or you may have the exact problem you are describing.
The warranty also increases to 5 years if you use the relay.
The way it was explained to me was that the HIDS use a lot of power when they fire and one of the bulbs, furthest from the battery may not get enough power to fire if you don't use the relay.

Yes I have the relays wired directly to the battery. I'm thinking its a terminal issue at the relay harness where it connects to the ballast.

Quick thought. Are the extra connectors that are on the grommet near the bulb the same plug as the ballast? I cut just cut one off and replace the connector and see what happens
