Yeah it seems to be a mystery. TRS says its the housing, but if that were the case, then you should have the bounce with the OEM bulb. Like I said earlier, before I ordered the kit, I grabbed the back of the projector housing to see if there was any movement. There was a little flex, but for the most part they were solid.

From the video's I've seen showing the bounce, it almost seems like the issue is with the bulb vibrating in the housing. I can't see how one cannot install the bulb properly. Once the 3 tabs engage the housing, the bulb catches and the gasket compresses as you lock the bulb in place. I will say when the bulb starts to lock in, it does get really tight, so maybe people aren't turning them to full lock? Not sure I'm only guessing.

But for now I don't have the bounce.

    UPDATE!!

So tonight I was driving around with my new lights, and I noticed that I needed to adjust the beam downward out of respect for other drivers.

Initially, I did not have the bounce issue. HOWEVER, I noticed that as soon as I touched the adjustment knob for the driver's side, the beam bounced like crazy. If I taped it gently with my finger, I could get the beam to bounce.

I adjusted both beams down and took a test drive. Now on jarring bumps, my drivers side beam bounces a little.

So I think the bounce problem has nothing to do with the grommets on the bulb, or the bulb itself, but with the adjustment knob.

So if you have the bounce issue, try adjusting your headlights up or down slightly and see if that helps. Not sure how the adjustment system is built, but perhaps the dial is between a set point.

I'd call support. Or if you want, start switching components one at a time. Start with the ballast from the passenger side and move it to the drivers side. If that doesn't work, put it back, and switch the igniter. If that doesn't work, swap the bulbs. If that doesn't work, well don't know what to tell ya lol.

I went out to check it for the second time and this time both are on. Thank's for your hints, I'll drive it tonight or see how it works. Still driver side don't turn on, so I check power from relay to ballast ok 12.5 volts then I swap igniters and bingothe driver side come and the passenger side don't, so I got a defective ignator. Will call company on Monday.

I just finished installing the 35w/5500k Morimoto kit from Retrofit Source. Holy crap! Night and day difference from the factory halogens. I don't see the bounce some have experienced. One of the things I did was to zip tie the igniters to the frame of the truck with enough wire so it isn't pulling on the bulb.

Awesome. I did the same, secured the igniters, relay's and ballasts to the frame, and zip tied the wires in place.

Are we to order the kit with canbus or the relay kit?

Thank you. That is the first time that link has worked. The links on here before the one you just gave me always went to the home page of their site. Could be operator error..... or should I say most likely operator error.

No problem man. Yeah that happened to me too, and then I spent time looking for the individual parts on the website. Then I saw that search box in the corner and was like, "hummm."

So one of my igniters are defective, I called tech support and they ask me to cut the wire in the faulty ignator and send a picture ( email ) back, so they can send me the replacement.

Bulbs are the same size, the difference is where the filament is placed in the bulb.

Which HID kit did you go with?

I managed to get most of the bounce out by adjusting the height of the beam using the adjustment knob on the housing. But I still have a little bounce on the drivers side that's omming from the bulb.

I kept the morimoto ballast, I only replaced the bulbs from some eBay $10dlls bulb. But I still want to fix the bouncing from the morimoto bulb because they're brighter and good color.

The other bulbs are H11 maybe the regular morimoto h11 won't bounce ??

I have not been this pissed at a product in a long time. I talked to the retro fit source and they told me what to check to make sure that the headlights would not bounce. That it was a problem with the truck and not their lights. That the bouncing was very rare. I checked my truck and found no problem. So I spend the 158 dollars on these things. And guess what. The bounce. Shame on me. Hopefully they will take them back.

Did you try adjusting the height of the beam with the adjustment knob. That helped me reduce some of the shake.

I read that you had done that and I did try. No change.
