We did recently make the grommets on our XenonDepot H11 HID bulbs thicker Which may help with this issue.

Ditto on that. After trying two brands of bulbs my thoughts are that thinner grommets = holy balls amounts of shake in the whole light field.
Thicker grommets like on the morimotos = small shake, but just in the center of the beam.

I've been looking for like a spacer to sandwich it so it would be "no play" to. Stop the shake or bounce but no luck in a perfect circle that size and the thickness to add it in

This was only done on our H11 XenonDepot HID bulbs and not the rebased Philips ones. It has been a few months now. The thicker ones are blue in color.

If you still have the spacer that came as part of the bulb casing, you can use that to help with the fitment. Just make sure it's not too tight as that can damage the HID bulb.

    Before Buying:

I was not aware of this bulb bouncing and rattling issue.

What causes this and how can it be fixed?

Haven't confirmed this but because so many are having the same issue with a few different brand of bulbs it leaves me to believe the issue is with the headlights as that is the common element here.

I did have a customer recently confirm that the issue was with his headlights on his 4Runner. He was just noticing this more because the lights were brighter.

    Thanks,
    Danny

I have had the morimoto kit in my pro for a little over a month. No shake. I just took my time with install and turned the bulbs until they stopped in the headlights. Everything looks and feels tight. No shake at night. Also have a set of oem replacement morimoto hid bulbs in my VW GTI with great feedback there too. Put 4500k in the GTI over a year ago, went with 5500k for the truck. 5500 at first were scary blue and then they burnt in to a perfect white for me. The 4500 in the gti seem a bit more yellow than stock, that's why I tried the 5500 and love them.

+1. Have have had 50w 5500k morimoto kit for a year now. Have always noticed the shake but it seems worse this year. Time change has me seeing it every evening on the way home from work now. It's not bothering me to the point of exchanging them yet but I'm here browsing this thread again for this very issue so I'm probably moving in that direction. I was considering the XenonDepot phillips kit as a potential solution so it's good to here your feedback. Sounds like that's not a solution in fact and the real issue is the actual housing. I suspected this early on. The brighter the lights the more noticeable the shake. Probably looking at retro-fitting RX350s to really rid ourselves of the shake.

I ordered exactly from the link I posted. I ordered LED not HID.

Sorry, misread the link. In that case, we haven't made any changes to the o-ring on the Xtreme LED Pro kit bulbs.

Kind of still up for debate. Lot of people went back and forth with morimoto. The only thing morimoto brought to the table was thicker gaskets which seemed to perhaps help a bit in some cases but not completely remedy the issue. They also seemed to think it wasn't their HIDs but the actual headlight housing and its projector instead. Fair enough in my opinion but some people didn't like that answer and seemed to think it was an issue with morimoto's kits. That being said there have been numerous reports of the same shaking with other kits so that alone seems like a dead give-a-way that it's the housing and not the kits.

The brighter the light the more you'll notice the shaking and it does seem like some people have it worse than others. Some even claim to not have any shake. I guess some get better housings than others?

That video depicts it best in my opinion.

Got them today. Set at 0. What is the recommended degree i should tune them to for the 2016 stock projector housing?

Updates on a "possible fix" for the shake and bounce with some spacers to add between the bulbs and the "so called high density gourmet washers from Trs"

Went to home depot and bought some neoprene washers gasket size 1/4 x 1-1/4 inch.

Used the box that the bulbs came with and traced with the metal washer.

Used the cardboard washer to trace the inner circle to fit on top of the washer

Test fitted with my 2017 oem fog light housing as they are the same size bulb.

The pictures of what I did and a video of "play, movement in the housing with the the morimoto bulbs and it's high density gourmet.

With the home made spacer there is no play. Some play but it feels like it would break with that type of force.

Make sure you have a cold beer and it was beastly to twist in with that extra spacer on top. Push in and twist with full finger power!

Will test and feedback once I drive at night over bumps, train tracks, and off roading

    * last time I'm messing with it. If it works= great, if not I'll live it it.....

So is the rebased Phillips bulb the h11a or b? Do the Phillips bulbs still have the bounce?
