I've admittedly never heard of any issues like this, especially given the 2016s are just a facelifted second gen, of which we have hundreds of owners running our parts here alone.

I'm not saying it's not possible. Anything is possible, but how exactly can it back feed so much to cause issues, that even the fuses can't stop? Seems very odd to me for sure.

Regardless, we'll be glad to help out in any way possible to see what the issue may be.

maybe, but the onus is on the owner for fucking up an already good lighting system by putting on his truck aftermarket parts not Toyota approved. only TRD Toyota parts are approved for use that would be covered by Toyota

Believe it or not, I actually had a service advisor at Toyota dealership locally (*coughPasadenacough*) that refused to look at a problem I was having with my exhaust because it was "aftermarket". I told her to read the giant letters engraved on the exhaust tip that said 'TRD'. She apparently didn't realize what TRD was. Took some convincing to get her to even verify it. Frustrating.

I basically never go to the dealership anymore these days because of shit like this. I have endless stories of them screwing me over or refusing work. First Tacoma I had- the battery died a year after i got it, I had ZERO mods done to it (had barely found TW yet :D) and they sat on the truck for 4 1/2 hours (telling me they're almost done for the last 2 while I sat/slept in the waiting room) to 'test' to make sure that nothing aftermarket caused the problem. I told them multiple times It was completely stock...oops I had 1/2 size larger tires on it...thats it lol

I had it tested at autozone first and they said the battery way dead, so I had to jump it again to get to the dealer and deal with all the BS for them to say "yeah its a dead battery-here's a new one"

haha, I have quite a few stories as well...and they mostly relate to this particular dealership. I ended up with a gnarly grinding sound coming from underneath my truck once after a pretty intense trail run out here (MJT). I took it to Toyota to have them check it out, they had it all day then called to tell me that the reason my 'transmission was grinding' was because I had unapproved, aftermarket floor mats in my truck and they were stopping me from being able to press my clutch in all the way...

First off, I'm not an idiot, I've been driving manuals for a long time and if my clutch foot was being inhibited by something that badly I would realize it. Second, I've had those floormats in for months and this only now starts to happen because of them? Nope. Anyway, their diagnosis was "free of charge" at least, lol. I took it to a local auto repair shop and they took one look under my truck, saw that I had dented my t-case skid up into the t-case and that was the source of the grinding I was hearing. Took it off, bent it back, and I was good. Was actually kinda disappointed in myself for not seeing that on my own, but anyway yeah. Dealerships can be a real pain in the ass to work with.

Anyway, sorry for the thread jack :stayontopic:

.. anyone else think it's kind of a too little, too late thing that TRS didn't chime in until 45 pages deep after multiple tags by the OP and only after a second truck has issues with their products?

Nice that they're here, I guess.. but not doing anything to handle the HID issue for a month or so now? And poor communication between then and now.. just seems extremely underwhelming.

That's because half the time they send the junior tech out (gloried oil jockey) to troubleshoot and he just pulls shit out of his ass to make a buck and they just go with it if it seems even remotely feasible

We unfortunately don't have the manpower to sit on forums all day long and peruse for issues like this. These alerts don't exactly send emails to us to notify us of issues, like, well, an email to us would. Regardless, for the one person here who has had an issue, will be taken care of.

Furthermore, if the issue was brought up by phone, live chat, or emails with our Customer Service team, it's likely already been resolved there.

That sounds great, but OP posted this back on Sept. 15th and is his first mention of your email response to his issues..
Followed by this subsequent post regarding your treatment of the problem..

So your reply to me about not sitting on forums all day long and it not being brought up via other contact methods is kind of a bullshit reply unless you consider me some kind of a moron.
