Yes, the Morimoto XB headlights do turn on...driving lights...randomly when the SR5 is off. I have dash cams and home surveillance cameras as proof. Also, MESO mentioned something about this. Other discussions have mentioned this issue, but I have not seen a specific solution.

I moved the SR5 fuse connection and stopped using the fuse mentioned in the online installation instructions. Around February 2020, I selected an alternative 10 amp fuse, next to the suggested fuse. I took a picture but do not recall my decision process. 20200122_171136.jpg 20200122_171204.jpg I am not an expert, but it appears to have resolved the random powering of the DRL. I have not driven the SR5 much since March 2020.

Yeah, Id be interested in a comparison to these, AlphaRex and OEM LED. I'm looking to grabbing one of the three in the future.

Having difficulty adjusting them. Did you have to adjust from package? They don't seem to move when I'm following the adjustment steps.

Anyone compared these aftermarket lights to the new 2020 factory lights? Would the 2020’s plug and play into a 2017 sport? Would love to upgrade.

I’ve never seen a comparison. No, the 2020 OEM LED will not plug into any other model, not even a halogen 2020. However you can get an adaptor harness.

Has anyone installed this in Canada and got it to work? Looking at the compatibility it says the truck needs to have a DRL off in the stalk but in canada Tacoma's does not have this option it is always on.

I’m not in Canada but I’m pretty sure that is for SR/SR5 that use the front amber turn signals as DRL because they would case the amber signals on the morimoto lights to be always on and over heat the signal resistors. As long your sport has white LED DRL like the US models you should be good. Mine work perfectly and I always leave the stalk on DRL when I don’t need headlights.

Package arrived and I immediately took them to get PPF installed. These things showed up incredibly well packed and everything about them is SUPER high quality. Once I get them installed I'll post up some more photos

Can anyone confirm/recommend a sequential mirror turning light which can pair with the turning lights of Morimoto's?

@LOWEREDLIFESTYLE - Did you get the new Morimoto Tacoma version? They are model SKU: MOR-LF530.2-AS XB LED. I see the new ones are 2nd GEN and have some significant upgrades. Curious if they are shipping yet -

Here is a recent review on them - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SPG6RnX2_5E

I wonder how these would stack up to my Phillips XV2 HID bulbs. They're probably the brightest lights I've ever had

I was thinking the same thing. I did the H9 hack and get great light output. Plus bumper light, pod lights etc. I am on the fence and just want to make sure they are worth it
