Just ordered a set of the mini HB LED high beam projectors today for a complete blacked out retro I’m working on. Are these going to mount up pretty easily and what shrouds are you guys using?

Wow, I may actually get them, first I’ve seen that model. I purchased the Profile high beam led for my SC430 but haven’t installed them. I have a quad setup and it’s way too bright.

How much room do you have? You could use a shroud from the mini series and that should fit fine.

You could probably use an e46 shroud but you would need to trim them.

As far as mounting they will go through the existing bulb hole and there is a hold down nut. Depending on clearance you may need to grind off some of the back of the bowl where the old bulb attached.

not much room, I need to open up the back and see, they just came in the mail today

I have no idea what I am doing really. Just thought I would see if I can do it. I might be doing it all wrong but seems like I could open that up and mount it and put a shroud over it. Thoughts?

If it’s a bolt in shroud like the mini ones they get screwed onto the projector before you actually install it. Put the shaft through the bulb hole and use one of the big washers on the back. Put the nut on but don’t tighten it all of the way.

Install the bowls back in the housing and put the housing back in the truck without the lenses on. Fire up the led high beams and make sure that the rotation is correct and the beam Pattern is level. Then lock the nuts down on the back. Double check the rotation after doing this.

Then remove the lights from the truck, Seal the edges with butyl tape and put the lenses back on. Rebake 270 degrees for 10 mins and press everything back together.
