No just because I build similar tables to help my customers understand doesn't mean I copied and pasted. Good try though

    Sorry forgot to mentions specs
All purchased from theretrofit source during Memorial sale
    It's a morimoto mini h1 7.0 projector kit
    Mini turbine shrouds
    Xb35w ballast
    Xb5500k bulb
    Motocontrol h4/9003 harness
    110mm can switchback halos
    IMG_7140.jpg

I went with the h1 over the d2s for two reasons
I loved the look of the mini turbine shroud which only fits the mini h1 projectors
2nd is for its sheer output. After looking around and digging up lots of dirt, the h1 7.0 may not be as sharp and clean as the d2s 4.0, but it definitely packs a punch in light output

Few tips I could mention about the whole process
When baking I did 260 degrees with the oven on for 7mins. Worked like a charm. Even after pulling it out of the oven the headlight seemed pretty solid and no where near melting.
I honestly felt that if I had turn off the oven I woulda just wasted time having to do it over again just to get the butil soft enough

Find a way to mask your headlight and bumper so you don't scratch anything while removing the headlight
I scratched mines up a bit but luckily I was able to polish it out

Thanks for the info. At 260 degrees for 7 mins, were you able to pull them apart by hand, or did you use a tool? I saw a video of a guy using reverse pliers, and slowly went around the assembly prying it open, looked like the best way to go about it. Other videos I've seen the guy is man handling it to pry it open.

Did you also black out the headlights? Mind explaining that process?

I did the same amount of heat and time when I did my lights. I used an old cheap butter knife for mine that is kind of flimsy. I opened up half of it first, put back in the oven for another 6-7 minutes to reheat the rubber again to finish it off. You don't have to do this twice if you are fast, but I was being careful with my first time. Perfect guidance there though from @Itsaerokyo808!

You can get TYC housings for 106 bucks a piece. They don't need to be OEM, the housing is only an instrument to hold the projector, once you install a BiX projector. Typically aftermarket assemblies are easier to bake apart and if you destroy one during the retro, order another one while you still drive around with your OEM lights in place until you are done. If I retro my third gen, I'll buy TYC assemblies and use those so my OEM assemblies are tucked away safely and I can experiment with less skin in the game. Just another point of view and a money saver on doing a full retro. Also, TRS is dangerously close to having a LED D2S, that would be amazing!

Nothing wrong with that man, most complain that the sealant on them isn't that good and some say the clear coating isn't that great over time. If you are planning to retro anyway, then you forgo the sealant issue as you are taking care of it yourself. I personally got spyder lights which actually had a good seal, but doesn't matter cause I resealed anyway, but I wouldn't get OEM for these reasons as to me its not worth the price and I wanted something different anyway.

No need to be calling Logan a dick. He's building my retros right now for about $1300. and that's just fine with me. If you can't afford it then stick with your halogens. You pay for what you get bro...that's how shit is on the planet.

I think as stated before, both sides got a little disgruntled over their communication but to be honest I felt the sale was pushed a little. Its one thing to bug someone for a discount on a good product, its another to need some persuasion in ordering. Atleast that is my take.

I agree...just don't like the name calling. Had a Fire Captain call me a dick once on a 911 call. The Fire Chief gave him 3 days off for that. He wanted me to run an elderly couple off the road because they wouldn't pull over to the right. I refused to do it.
