I'm very happy with what I have there (SS3 Sport SAE), but want to replace what I have on my A-pillar. I thought that maybe I could upgrade the fog lights with the backlit option, and move them to the A-pillar, but that sounds like a bit of a hassle when I can just get SS3 sport combo for the A-pillar for a good bit cheaper.

Well here's a thought... If you're going to have the same color on both your A-pillar and fog lights (yellow/yellow or white/white) what I could do is sell you a set of standard backlit lights in a combo pattern. You would then just need to swap lenses and bezels across everything you have and then you're off to the races. As long as you don't go max which uses a different lens/emitter this would be a pretty easy swap.

So for basically $30 more I could get the backlight in the fog location. Hmm, I'll need to think about that. Yeah, yellow in both locations and both Sport.

How does the wiring differ between the two? Would it still be plug and play in the fog location, just needing to run another set of wires for the backlit option?

Pretty much. We'll need a couple little wiring bits as well. The backlit lights use a 4-pin connection so we would need the 4-pin to H11 adapter which is PNP + an extra wire for the backlight that you can tap into whatever. It's $10 for a pair of those adapters. Then we would just need a standard wiring harness for the ditch lights unless you do your own wiring.

Sorry for taking up so much of your time. Do you have a link or a picture for that adapter? Are people running the backlight with the DRLs and manually toggling the fogs on or tasking to the low beams? Just trying to wrap my mind around what I'd need to do.

For the ditch lights, I'd probably wire them up myself using my existing DIY harness and connectors. I'd just need two bare wires.

It's all good your questions are likely answering something for others. They look like so - You plug one end into the SS3 and then the other end into your existing OEM H11 connector. That will drive the main beam to function exactly how your fogs currently do. Then there's the backlit wire that you can tap into whatever you want. Most folks either tap it to their DRL or their parking lights. The lights have a guardian in them that turns off the backlight anytime the main beam is triggered.

Cool, I didn't see those on the site.

Now, can I continue to be a good boy like I said I would, or give into temptation.

Yeah as I was answering your questions I realized that I didn't have the backlit adapters on our site yet!

On my list to get done here a little later!

I’m looking at the amber pro SAE fog lights for a ‘15. Is this a direct plug & play or would I need a new wiring harness, etc ?

Got my lights in today and already installed! Thanks for the great deal!

Question, the lights came with both harnesses (the regular and one for the back lighting). I didn't order the back lighting.

Is this something DD is including with all kits?

CORRECT. They’re including both sets of adapter harnesses in all kits. Why? Probably out of convenience and limiting another SKU, but I don’t know for sure.

If you want to use them daily and don’t find yourself in poor driving conditions then sports will probably suit your needs. If you truly need the “punch” that the additional light offers then you certainly won’t regret pros!

Aim them properly and they’re all still legal.
