Morimoto Just released the following lights, pretty cool in my humble opinion. I know there's plenty of options but aside from some retrofits, these have to be some of the best looking lights out there for 2.5 Gen Tacos.
Not as expensive as the 3rd Gen's either....

Sadly, I have a 2010 so until they decide to release a 05-11 version, Ill have to break my lights open for a retrofit.

Thread was posted on this a couple days ago, might have been the 2nd gen forum though. They do look good...but too imitative of the 3rd gen. They shouldn't have plagiarized as much

Hm... I didnt see that... Ill delete this if thats the case...
They did copy the 3rd gen but I think thats actually good, it makes the 2.5s look newer. (and you get to keep the 4.0)

Lol in my opinion, it looks too copycat. I liked the bigger, in your face style of the 2.5s. In my perfect world, they would have copied Spec-D's design that is similar to this, but with a bigger C light. pic below. I'm prob biased since those are on my truck, but i think they look the best for the 2.5gen

yeah these are pretty sweet too...
I keep trying to keep myself from buying headlight for my 2nd gen saying "I dont need them" but then I see this stuff and I kinda do need them...

The biggest difference is the morimotos are actually quality lights though and not cheap projectors.

Cant argue that, I'm also looking at doing a retrofit with morimotos for that reason

Yeah, that's why I said I wish Morimoto had copied the style

I would definitely do a proper retrofit vs buying those spec-d's. my vision is perfect and i have lighting for when I really need it so I don't mind the poor output, but if I did, they'd be taken off faster than you could buy em.

I have them on pre-order and will include a full writeup/review. Unsure where I will post the results just yet, but will likely post the link in the 2nd Gen headlight thread.

Definitely looking forward to that. I hope they're good.

I’m with you with prefering the design lights you posted. I think the design that Morimoto went with doesn't translate well to the 2nd gens. I think if I were to get lights I’d still go with the Morimotos because of build quality.

Especially the 300+/700+ % brighter than stock halogen lo/hi claims.

Morimoto has been known to wildly exaggerate those claims. I wouldn’t put any faith in those numbers.

I always find it interesting that folks post pics of how the lights look. Unfortunately, that has very little to do with how they perform. Maybe it's just me ...

Ok this photo might be changing my mind about not liking these lights...

What lights were you running before? How do they compare with these Morimotos?
