I work in a tire shop and it looks like they most likely didn’t tighten the valve stem nuts enough

i once installed some golf cart tires with hand tool. Never doing that crap again. If you dont have wd40, brake cleaner is explosive enough to set the bead.

im happy to take it to someone to do that job.

that sucks big time. I always purchase tires on-line via DTD - sales listed here on their vendor thread. Shipped to the house free. I always have the Mother Ship do mount/balance/alignment. Reason for both - exactly what you got in your experience. Mother Ship M&B cost = $15/tire. I don't trust local tire shops - they learn skills and service from Jiffy Da Hut and Greasy Da Monkey.

So I picked up the truck about an hour ago, all the tires seem to be holding air now, the steering wheel is still off a few degrees off but I have zero faith in them to get it right so I'm going to live with it until I can take it to a real shop. When I walked in the manager handed me my key and simply asked me to sign the electronic keypad, I refused to do so until I could see what I was signing for, he printed it out and it said "customer requested install of over size tires, tire rubbing caused flat tires, no warranty." At this point I am completely over the whole deal, I'm going to cut my losses, chalk it up as a loss and move on.

Not just tire shops. It seems to me that customer service is all but dead no matter what job you are trying to get done. 3 months to get back the deposit for a failed carpet purchase. "Sir the parts for your van will be in on monday, we will call you then" 4 mondays ago and still no call. Sorry the roof of your shed fell in and smashed all your shit, too bad it didn't happen last year because then it would have been covered, your agent didn't tell you that? Screw it all, don't care anymore.

Ive been going to Discount Tire (same as Americas Tire)for the last 7yrs. Ive sent all my family and friends over there.
Great service and they know their tires/wheels!

Last time i tried to rush things, I took my wife's car to NTB and they stripped the tuner lug nuts.

    sorry OP

If you're really good, find a good local shop and have the tires shipped there. Saves the trouble of loading em in your truck and unloading em. That's what I did.

Ask for a refund on the alignment. Blast their ass on social media, and discouraged people from using the business. That's is completely poor management.

Coming from a family owned shop for the past 23 years, I appreciate some of the comments in this thread. I take pride in my tire work, even on corroded nasty rims. I take my time to clean & seal, even valve stems. When I get the random request for low profile/custom wheels, I make a point to order new parts to freshen up my tire machine to reduce the risk of scratches.

We never had problems with customers ordering thier own tires either. I even suggest having then shipped to my shop.

Terrible experiences OP... My steering wheels looks more straight than that after my half assed Diy alignment!

By the way.. Awesome suspension/wheel/tire setup straight off the bat on your 2019

The last issue was my 15K service at the Toyota dealer (Karl Malone Toyota) and a bunch of my lug nuts had the socket run on to them, unlucky for me I found it on a Sunday and I was swapping to winter wheels/tires so it cost me $50 and a trip to Costco.

I worked for a "mom and pop" shop for several years before my current job, it was only the owner and myself and we were on first name basis with 75%+ of our customers. The owner did not advertise but yet we were always busy do to the fact we took pride in our work and stood behind it 100%, if the customer was not happy for some reason we would make things right before they left. Unfortunately I feel like this is becoming a thing of the past, and now all the positions are being filled by unskilled high school dropouts that just don't give a flying fuck.

Because toyota sucks and doesnt align their shit before leaving the factory floor. I got an alignment done at about 10k when i put wildpeaks on it and it was way off. I went back to the dealership i bought the truck from, showed them the alignment specs before/after and demanded compensation. Got a free future alignment out of it.

I deal only with a company that provides good service, good product and fair pricing. I’m not rich but support a decent wage for workers to support employee retention and skill development. Who needs these headaches? I hope you get it all squared away OP so you can enjoy your truck!
