Most solid way mount bikes while off-roading?

    I use a Kuat dirtbag bolted down somewhere solid and then bungee the rear tire down. It is rock solid.

    I've used a Yakima High Roller and actually stopped and threw my bike in the bed since it was moving around so much on washboard roads that I thought it was going to fly off

    Yeah that is what I am concerned about. Seems like the fork mount bike carriers maybe more solid for moderate off road trail driving?
