    Very Very few people, even corporations make a purchase like that. More often than not a lens of this caliber is rented with a deposit of what the lens cost and a final charge of about 10%.

    So a $29,000.00 deposit would be made at pick up and then when the lens is returned all but around 10% is returned to the customer. Some rental companies charge more, some less, but you get the idea.
