Just want to show off my brand new oil filter wrench before it gets all scratched up. Expensive... Yes, but compared to the cheap ones that break, no... I've heard nothing but good things about these.

How do you really know the reviews are not fake? Pretty tools don't make the mechanic.

Good question... MotivX also sells these on Amazon too, albeit without the custom text. I use the Fakespot plugin to give me a least some assurance that the reviews are valid. What Fakespot does is analyze the reviews and gives the reviews a score.

I did just that at 1000 miles and used a $15 filter wrench that looks exactly the same as the OPs :notsure: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B07D8PXD6W/ It didn't break either.

Ended up buying one from NAPA. Not sure the brand but it works, no issues yet.

I have one of those for the wife's rav 4. I hated that you have to line everything up and keep upward pressure to keep it seated. I got one of these at Walmart that I prefer to use. I'll probably get a higher quality version, I just got one of these to see if I would like the style better.

hmmm, suspicious. Prob MotivX buying these off the same boat and branding them for a $10 premium.

Just did my truck's first oil change. This thing is overkill. The filter housing turned off easy.
Unless it was brought to Jiffy Lube and they severely overtightened, there's really no reason that you would have to put any real torque into it. The filter housing is only spec'ed to 18 lbs.
