I know I know. I want to do it. Its not like I have to wait for the perfect day over here. My fear I guess is buying a clay bar that is either generic from a store like autozone or pepboys or simply not using it correctly. Frankly, I don't even know what it looks like. What did you use anyways? Would you recommend it or would you get a different product?

 

i actually got mine from pepboys. it was a maguires clay bar kit. it comes with everything you need. clay barring is very easy, just wash and dry your truck, then spry on the lubricant (do it in sections snd not the whole truck at once)and rub the clay bar on the paint. lastly, just wipe off the lubricant and be amazed at how smooth you paint feels.

 

I assume its got to be waxed after you clay it?

 

always a good idea to wax after a clay bar. When you clay bar, you are removing not only all the dirt and grime and contaminents, but also all the wax and polish (all the protection). Once you have that paint all smooth and clean from the clay bar job, yeah, hit it with a coat of wax, that'll keep your claybar jobs longer in-between and your paint will feel like glass

took some new pics around town a couple weeks ago after i washed, clay barred and waxed my truck, and thought i would post them in here for shits and giggles. haven't done any new mods in awhile though

 

got my billies this week! not going to put them on right away but im excited for when i do get them on.

it was kind of an impulse buy . i know they are hard to come by so i just went ahead and bought them. im going to wait until i hit 50k to install them though. im going to set them at 1.25" more than likely and leave the rear stock for now

 

I think everyone on here knows about the impulse buys... You will really like the new stance, just make sure you find a good alignment shop.

 

im thinking of trying the dealership for an alignment. i heard they are usaually cheaper and i hope would know how to work on a tacoma

I know all about baby seats lol. Congrats man, i have a girl and shes totally a daddy's girl, she makes me cry all the time lol when shes sad so am I haha. You'll love it. Minus the no sleep for a while. Anyway nice truck! Best of luck

Nice 1st Gen and clean undercarriage for a Northern Truck

 

thanks jesse! this last winter really took its toll on the undercarriage though and is starting to show quite a bit of surface rust. hopefully before this next winter i can get that all taken care of and get a fresh coat of paint on the frame. tough to find time anymore but i'll just have to make time for that.

man i really need to get my 5100's on too. coming up on a year and still havent installed them yet
