She mentioned there was lots of manufacturing delays (Like everything else) I would imagine that they should be rolling into the stores this month or next.

They look great. Just like the Falken Wildpeaks but at a much lower cost. The CT website says the LT rated Eliminator weights 40.78 lbs. Does that feel about right? It's pretty light for an LT tire.

That's not bad at all for an LT tire.

    Hey All,

Sort of a cross post here from Rav4World (I used to own a Tacoma, so already had an account). I was about to buy the Cooper Discover AT3 4S for my 2004 Rav4 project car (lift coming, shopping for AT tires), but then came across this post.

I think I missed the sale on the new X-Trails tires over night (yesterday they were at 126.00, now they are back to $200), but the original Motomaster AT3s are on deep discount at around $85 a tire - both in a 235/70/16R size

Sort of scared by bad reviews that they are hard to balance, wear out quick. etc. Perhaps it was just some bad batches early on in its production run? Any one want to make me feel better about picking up 5 of the original Moto AT3s?

Me and my friends have ran about 6-7 sets of the Original MM between us on all types of trucks and SUV's .... not (1) bad balance.

Even my wife commented how smooth these tires were , which kind of blew me away because she never comments on that sort of thing.

When I pull mine off next week to mount the new ones , i'm keeping them around.

Mine are fine, they are great for the $ but you need to understand the limits of all terrains, let alone budget all terrains.

I had the AT34S prior to the MM AT3's. The 4s was way better on road, and cold weather. The MM AT3 is better offroad, but lacks cold weather performance. They are louder as well.

All AT tires can have balancing issues, I've been in the trade a long time. It's rare to see a defect, and these are cooper, which aren't AAA tires, but still not a chinese no-name.

I have the 4S LT Cooper versions with 5000 km's on them and have been pretty happy with them so far. No balance issues yet.

    Thanks all for the responses.

I wish I wouldn't of missed the sale on the MM Eliminator X-Trails as I would of liked a little better winter performance (even though I do run dedicated snow tires).

I was hoping to put on new tires before March 15 because I'm heading out on a road trip to the US. (When Quebec's winter tire law ends, and not just that - there is likely more winter after even the required period is over). My existing snow tires aren't great and came with the car when I bought it - uneven wear, etc.

Maybe ill pop into the store today and see if the deal is still there on the new X-Trails. Either that or I'm leaning toward Cooper AT3s 4S as the price is going to be about the same at the X-Trails without the sale price.

I can't comment about the AT3's but I have AT2's on my motorhome. They have been fantastic. On highway and dirt road. Even if I didn't get them at more than half price they would have been a great deal.

I stopped by my Canadian Tire today in hopes that they might give me the sale price that was valid just yesterday on the new Eliminator X-Trails and they did (about $130 per tire). I bought five and had them mounted up to get the warranty.

Only disappointment is they mounted the tire weights on the outside of the rim (I should of asked them to do the inside - ugh).

Thanks to all who chimed in on this thread. Interested to see how they perform over the next few months and they look great.

Confirming what others said - The sidewall looks more aggressive in the photos than it is in real life - especially sitting next to a Falken. But I think they'll be perfect (and a deal) for the Rav4.

You get p or lt? The p series tires have a less aggressive sidewall and likely tread depth

@Northern Taco is correct. I got 235/70/16R 106 T, 4ply- I don't believe they offered the LT version in this size, even if they had it would of been overkill for the Rav. So disregard my comment about the sidewall. Also explains why there is a price difference between whats listed for a 235/70/16 and say the 265/75/16 of the OP.

Regardless. Thanks for everyone helping me make a solid choice and get a good deal for my softroader project.

I went from 215/60/16s to 235/70/16s. Lift kit is on its way, but there is no rubbing with out.

Sunny pic is after, other pick is before (flipped to match)
