Hey everybody...new to the forum. I was having a discussion with my boss today about oil weight and viscosity and it got me to wondering...Toyota recommends 5W-30 year-round for my '00 4cyl. 2.7. I have 122K on it and I'm wondering if I should run a heavier oil in the summer...something like 10W-40. Any opinions on this?

Assuming your truck lives in NY, I would leave the 5/30. In warmer climates (averaging 90+) you might go heavier but not here in the north.

Great info, thanks. I think I'll stick with the 5/30. I run full synthetic anyways...not that it matters.
