    Only because you quoted me....

I posted my experience -- accurately -- for general info. If that triggered your response, so be it.
Thanks for your feedback, which I will assume is accurate..... but has no bearing on what I posted back on page 2.

WOW I just noticed the lifter racket too! I only happens when you accelerate the RPMs while sitting still??? It is quiet while idling. BTW I ended up with Motocraft oil and not Pennezoil! Hope she's ok!

Mine was very noticeable at idle as well as under light acceleration. This happened right after the last two oil changes, and only for a few miles or so before it quieted down.

in the past I would take random oil
pour it into a jug and shake it to mix the oil
Then I would pour it into the engine
which would also mix the oil running

kind of like how the engineers make it at the factory
where they add viscosity modifiers to reach the desired advertised viscosity

to my knowledge the 1GR-FE does not have any small finicky components like a modern sophisticated vehicle that may for example rely on only a specific viscosity of oil to properly operate a certain component designed with it in mind

which even then, those vehicles sometimes still state in the owners manual a wide range of accepted viscosity

low cold weight for start ups
high hot weight to handle operating temp
Thicker, while possibly handling higher temps in certain vehicles better, is also harder to move causing worse MPG

when the EPA or whoever says a new model has to be a hovercraft,
car companies take the old model, then spec thinner oil
Voila, 1 more mpg, like magic. Planet saved
