2020 with 35k on it. Motor has a slight miss or stumble around 1,200-1,500 rpm under a load. Doesn't happen all the time just occasionally and not throwing any codes. I can make it do it if rpm's and load is just right by lugging the engine. Any thoughts, anyone else had this issue ?

I'd use a good scanner to see if you can see any codes/potantial codes. Otherwise I'd check the plugs, I did mine at 40k and they were pretty nasty

Common problem when less than 1500rpm at 40-55mph. Feels like lugging a stick shift. Toyota says this is a normal characteristic...

I wouldn’t make that a habit. Bad for your engine. Going 91 octane should take care of that.

Despite being a truck, these engines are meant to be rev'd out a bit.

Yup a buddies 2019 trd always did the same at 1300 rpm when using 6th gear. Its weird some trucks will do it while others won't. I can't make my truck do it...at least not yet. Seems some 3.5's make a little more power than others that overrides this issue, either that or the transmissions just work better....maybe a little of both..

Sooo, last night leaving the hockey game about 40°. I started the Taco put it in gear and left. No warm up time. As soon as we got out of the parking lot after I hit 3rd gear. Lugging it a little 1500ish rpm, it had a really bad miss fire/stumble/cut out. Only did it once but it did it bad enough my wife noticed in the passenger seat. Only has 700 miles on it and is OV tuned by my buddy @tonered.

I'd say at $350 per tune, it better make the truck run like a modern v8 otherwise your getting hosed.

actually, the change in weather conditions can trigger knock sensors which may take some time for the ECU to adjust to the new conditions. i found that the ecu starts to retard timing on 87 octane once the weather starts to get warm. i usually run 89-91 octane in the summer for this reason. although, with gas prices, i may just accept the slight loss in power.

Some folks don't care about or know how to update their profile info.

That's my gambit in this game. :p
