That's.... Something! Seems like an incredible expense to get almost the same thing unless that guy has a bunch of supercharger parts sitting around or something like that

About the only advantage that the 4.0 has is more low end torque.

I've been thinking about an LS conversion for my Tacoma the holdback for me is losing or trying to make the basic electronics work like the air-conditioner, dash gauges , power windows etc. I can live without the ABS , toy computer but not everything else. GM LS motors have so much support is so easy to work with. If you try to do a Toyota motor and trans how would you make the computer work there's no aftermarket support. with the GM tranny and LS it has its own computer standalone.

It would probably end up getting the same gas mileage with an LS too.

I went with a 5.7L swap. Toyota threw a big, luxurious, bad ass truck in the deal too. Was the best decision I have made in a while.

Who thinks up of chit like this?? Exactly!
    It's so fake I can't stop lmaoo!

I actually have owned two 4.0 L power plants, loved them both! Still do own one, still love it, but the 3.5 is better, woundn't swap it except for a V8 that can give me 22-24 mpg with the awesome response I get from my '16 3.5L Taco.
Edit: make that 3 owned 4.0L lol!

    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!

how about people just wait for oem twin turbos from the LS 500. It would be scary fast with 440 ft lbs of torque.

Toyota V6 enignes are known to go to 200k+ on all or mostly original parts.

Not sure how any Toyota V6 is considered a POS engine.

The ford inline 6 powers the bag tugs at airports seen the world over (the unleaded powered ones anyway). There's something to be said for them. They're carbureted of course.

Why not just drop it off at the place in TX that imports Hilux' yotas from Japan and will drop in that 3.4L turbo diesel for $25k lol

    Barely

Isn't it 500rpm worth of separation in torque numbers? Seems fairly trivial. My AC kicking on almost changes the RPMs more.

    Obvious troll is obvious.

On a serious note though if someone has some cash to burn, 2JZ but keep the twins, keep it in the family.
