Trying to get to the beach on Memorial Day weekend

 

This morning I accelerated on an on-ramp behind a TRX. Apparently he didn't like my puny display of power because he immediately jumped on it and went over the horizon.

Battle tested? Unless it's an army Humvee or an ISIS Hilux/technical those pretty trucks ain't been battle tested.

This thing is a dream off road, but on the road it wanders for ditch to ditch.

It actually got BETTER after the lift and 37's, but it's still tricky to drive.

 

Hmmmm, they said Taco was by far the worst to see out the windshield.

 

Has a Tacoma ever won one of these when there was more than 2 trucks involved? Seriously lol.

I'd pick the Bison too btw.

 

Yesterday I saw a Gladiator pulling a 2 axle 20-30' enclosed trailer. Looked like the road friendly trim what ever that's called. The Gladiator was only going a out 40mph and towing on flat ground, it looked like it was handling the trailer well. I didn't notice much squatting, or if a weight distributing hitch was being useed, the trailer may have been empty.

This had me thinking, maybe a solid front axle 1/2 ton or midsize might not be that bad. I was leaning more toward 1/2 tons. More capacity from a SFA, and a stronger front end for off road.
