motorcycle or sea do?

im not sure... just browsing around craigslist in my range, it will be about 20 yrs old. i found an 89 four winns bowrider for a really decent price. it def. needs work and a good engine cleaning. but it has 140 hp, 4 cylinder, id replace the prop ( they say it has a few dings in it) the seats have weather cracks in them so id eventually fix that (not priority) its a 16 footer. pretty decent deal... i have been on quite a few four winns... pretty nice boats....

I have also found a few mid-late 70s silverline trihull boats as well. both have 120 hp, open bow (if i bought a boat id love to have open bow), power trim.... i would def. have a mechanic check it out before i purchased also...

Oh sorry I got the impression you were looking at small jetboats. sbt only make engines for skis and jet boats.

A used prop boat is probably a better way to go than a used jetboat. more reliable unless it's one of the newer 4 stroke yammi's but those are big bucks.

 

SeaRay's are great small prop boats. My uncle has a 99 that looks brand new. If taken care of and flushed after each use they'll last a lifetime. Here's an old searay.

im really just all over the place.. id like something that is somewhat decent on gas... i know its gonna be expensive anyways. if i find a ski for a decent price that is fairly new, il get it but if i find a prop boat for a decent price i will get that instead. i found another link that has the same four winns i mentioned in my last post. i wil post the link up there. im almost positive thats the same exact one.

 

Don't get a jet boat if you're worried about gas, atleast a 2 stroke. Also many of the 2 stroke jetskis will gulp gas.

yeh i was looking at some of the jet ski fuel consumptions, i was surprised.... it wasnt much better than a big boat.

 

jet drives aren't as efficent as props.

 

i guess that makes sense, it has to work harder to push the water through fast enough to get it to move.

 

According to this they are 40% less efficent. I wouldn't have thought that much.

wow! 40% is alot! ive seen some of those really nice big master crafts with jets. bet the fuel consumption on those is horrible.

 

boat, see-doo's are for cooks and tourists haha plus alot of upkeep and they get old after awhile, only soo much you can do on them

 

could this be a decent beginner boat? its got pretty much the main essentials.

probably ski and relaxing. maybe some fishing.

 

Something that old may have big problems. Maybe you should look for a boat with an older hull and a newer outboard or something. just something to consider.

 

get the ski or a jet boat. your a little safer on the water.

 

I will see what i can dig up. with the older hulls, what should i look for as far as damage or anything? i have seen a few older hull boats with an outboard that is relatively new. im gonna check those out again.

jet ski. no speed limits, you dont scrape your skin off if you fall and its an awesome excuse to get a girl in a bikini to straddle you. hell, i dont even see why you're struggling with this decision...
