Some very light rubbing is normal, but the front wheel should definitely spin freely. Contact with the spinning rotors is actually what "retracts" the pads and pistons after the brake lever is released. I'd put the bike up on a front stand and give the wheel a spin and see how it spins. It should coast down to a stop kind of slowly (a few seconds in my experience).

Got it, thanks for the info!

I don’t have a front stand yet, so I’m not sure how I can spin it by hand until I buy a stand.

If it rolls easily and you can gradually apply the brakes (i.e. they don't immediately bite super hard), you're probably fine. I would recommend getting some stands though. Oh, and if you're not already aware, put the bike on the rear stand before the front stand (tends to be a little unstable on the front stand only).

Ha ha, I'm Ben and thanks! I'll try to get some truck photos up at some point, but she's pretty stock looking at the moment.

Yep, social media's pretty toxic. Pretty soon you'll see the world as just Tacomas and "not-Tacomas"... Personally, I consider TW as support group.

.... I use a floor jack under my skid plate :anonymous: just make sure its not going to tip over if you do that. Tie it off somehow or put it on a center stand, too, if so equipped.

Edit: also just remembered the time that I put the BMW on the center stand and had my girlfriend sit on the tail rack to weigh the back down so I could take the front tire off real quick. She wasn't pleased that when I asked for her help I just wanted to her to be counterweight

That too but this is a motorcycle thread...need details and pics of your bike !

Lol sometimes you have to get creative , one time I used a ratchet strap to hang my bike from the rafters in the garage so I could remove the forks

Fair point -I'll get some moto photos up! I've definitely done the ol' ratchet strap bike hoist maneuver some time ago, but have since upgraded to a come-along because it makes the lowering process a bit less exciting.
