I tried a seat stander the other day and was too scared to keep it up.

Also started cornering...one thing you'll want to know, it doesn't matter how straight you keep the bars when you come down while the back tire is leaned over, you're going to wobble. I about shit myself.

Figured it was time for a post. I sold my beloved 1973 Honda CB350f cafe last month and just picked up a 2014 BMW f700gs. It came with lots of extras and low miles. I just ordered some swmotech crashbars for it. Anyone else have one of these? I looked at some f800's but because I will mostly be on-road the f700 seemed like the better choice. I plan on upgrading the rear shock and tires soon.

Nice bike! Let us know how it performs on the highway.

Been looking at adventure and commuter style bikes lately. If I could afford a new adventure bike the F700GS would definitely be my choice. It's nice for short people like me.

The highway experience has been solid. Lots of power! It will get up to 90mph in a hurry and keep going, and the size makes it very responsive. And yep for short people it's perfect. I just wanted the bulletproof engine and some off road abilities. If you're willing to be patient and look around you can pick these up 2 years old for $4000 less than new.

I really liked my battleaxe tires on my old bike. Seemed really solid.

Nice, that's exactly what I need sometime soon or else I have to get a car... Haha

Unfortunately right now I'm only wanting to spend about $4,000 which is why I'm looking at something like the Honda NC700X for now. Some day I'll get something as nice as that BMW I hope

They're not a bad tire, that's for sure. I like the Dual Compound; seems like I don't smoke through them as fast. I went through two sets of dunlops in a summer on my 250 when I was commuting on it; put a set of battlax on it and I've been running them on it ever since. They've got probably 6k on them now and they've still got good life left in them.

Yeah, when I bought this bike it had 3k miles on it, the tires didn't even look worn. I'm gonna stick with these! Thanks

:woot: 6kg spring. Put all my weight on it and I couldn't notice any collapse. Should be tons better than the soft rear that is in there now

    You swapping it out yourself?

I'm not sure what i need mine set up for. I'm 180 currently. With all my gear i'm closer to 190 so i guess spring it for 200lbs?

Dang, for mine it recommends like a 9.8kg spring. And that's for a 120lb rider. Guess the internals on my shock is much softer than the DRZ's.

Kind of hoping there's a lot of dirt trails when I move so I can have an excuse to upgrade forks and shock haha

I just got my 6.4 in the mail today. Gonna put the bike up on the stand tomorrow and swap it out. Can't wait to do a 60 mph run down a dirt road with new springs all the way around.
