You could totally put a headlight, tail light and signals on that and street it all day...

That have a lot of cool and rare bikes that pop up. Worth a follow on instagram, too, if you have one, they post a ton on there along with a story behind most bikes.

Got my “honey-do’s” done early enough, had time for a quick 50 miles. Good times, frozen hands!

Also, need help finding the size for the bolt that secures the front of my belt guard. It’s gone! :annoyed::notsure: I swear that wasn’t something I messed with. And, still need to secure the pipes to the mount. But fun ride nonetheless.

Any ride this time of year is a treat, especially for those of us in the colder temps! I'm hoping to get out tomorrow if it gets into the mid-40's.

I went through a two or three month period where I lost at least 4-5 bolts from seemingly rando places on my bike. I was able to find a few OEM equip sites that provided complete parts list w/ diagrams. If you can find one for your bike, hopefully they will have the part specs and you can source it from there...

Spent pretty much all day changing out my broken front fairing stay on my FJR1300. Will post pics later of just what a PITA that was. Shortly after I bought it in September 2019 on a trip to Alabama it fell over at a rest stop when I didn't have the sidestand locked in properly. Came out of rest room to see my bike taking a nap in the parking lot. I repaired it with JB WELD which held for quite a while but PA roads and long distance rallying can be tough obviously equipment. Installed a ne battery and LED headlight bulbs while I had it torn apart.

Lol! Man, about half my front fairing is held together with that stuff! A buddy of mine bought an FJR about a year ago and he took the fairings off to go over it. He said it was a ridiculous PITA and that if he needed to take 'em off again for some reason, he'd just put it up for sale...

My second FJR. The Gen 2 was way easier to strip bodywork off for service. Gen 3 snaps together more like a puzzle, you can't see where some of the tangs and pins are until you start pulling panels apart. I do have one broken tang on my left side panel.

Some of what needed removed to change broken fairing stay.

JB Weld that no longer was sufficient. I have the other piece and will have a welder at work repair this so I can have a spare though I hope to never have to do this again.

Almost have it off. New fairing stay on floor to right.

Broken stay on right, new on left. Ready to transfer windshield motor and drive to the new stay. At the far right side of the new stay you can see the silver bushing the mirror studs pass through. This is a weak spot for the 3rd Gen FJR as any drop at all even in a parking lot if the mirror hits the ground this fairing stay will break off where the mirror mount to it. Part is under $200 but I'm at about 6-8 hours so far swapping things out.

I love my bike but my next one will be a naked or a dual sport!

Would love to see a few pics once you get her back together!
