Those RE5 bikes were way too heavy and over complicated for a project like that. A coworker of mine had one of those and just a few years ago donated it to the Antique Auto Club of America Museum in Hershey, PA where it's now on display. 3 oil reservoirs each with its own oil pump, throttle involved 5 cables, dual walled exhaust pipes to handle the increased heat put off by the single rotor engine just to name a few quirks/issues you'd have to deal with.

I would like to get a dual sport or even just a straight dirt bike but still be able to transport it without my trailer so I've played with the idea of building my own and using the shackle points on my HC bumper to run some kind of turnbuckle or something to the ends to give some extra support. I have a swingout with tire on the back so I would also have to make it extend back far enough to clear that as well, maybe handle bars to the drivers side since the tire is offset to the passenger.

Well, I found some boots on sale and decided that I might as well get some if I’m going to plan some post vaccine trips that I put off from last year.

They are Icon 1000 retrograde boots. I like the look, I wanted the 1000 Elsinore boots, but I think I will wear the lower ones more and they seem like they will do more of what I need. The Elsinore’s would have made me a bit of a poser.

Hey folks, just because you have your bike in storage for the winter doesn’t mean you can forget about checking in on it.

That’s the chain on the CBR, and it was meticulously cleaned and oiled when I put the bike in storage in November.

    Go check on your scoot!

I'm in the same boat with my rear bumper. I test fit a hitch mount a friend had with my son's pit bike and it did fit but I would definitely tie into my rear bumper. I also noticed how bad I need to get new leaf springs on the truck for that weight hanging off the back. My HD Dakars are already flat. Gotta finish those taxes and see if any vendors have a sale :spending:

Yeah, mine were going flat even before the Drifter went on. I'll have to replace them before I think about hauling a moto off the back. Once I finish up my taxes I'm going to call Deaver and see about that U402 stg III.

Will do. I was hoping this tax return would go a little farther since I'm claiming my son this year. But...between the leaf springs for the Taco and coilovers & rims/tires for my car there won't be much left. lol

I havent started mine yet. Youre probably getting more than me because of your son, but mine is claimed by the GFC. We should try to meet up after I pick mine up.. maybe in June/July?

Gotta ask, do you need coilovers for your car? My beater is exactly that.. a beater. It gets nothing except gas and oil.

My ex and I alternate years for claiming our son, so this year I get a little bump with my turn in the process. I'd definitely be down to meet up. I'm hopeful the fire bans won't be so bad this year.

My daily doesn't technically need coilovers, but the stock suspension is just too soft for me. I could go with sport springs(like my last daily) but some dampening adjustability would be nice. The 15" donuts they call tires absolutely need to go though, they can't handle the cars power and just roll over when I go thru a turn.

just thought I’d let y’all know.

With my second girl on the way... I realized California just is getting too expensive. .
...after many zoom interviews and phone calls..

I landed a solid job in Texas. And my family and I are finally leaving Cali. We move in a few weeks. :D

I’m def flying back to do the 19 hour ... ride on my motorcycle though.

    :cool::cool::cool:

If anyone is out towards Austin. Hit me up. :bananadance:

Not sure if you already have an Iron Butt Association number yet but check the mileage from your current to your new location and see if you can earn your membership. You only need 1000 miles in under 24 hours......It's really not as hard as most folks think. Any questions or need advice on doing it just PM me, I'm happy to help.
