Rack-N-Ride! No wobble and stout as fuck. They have longer main bars to clear swingouts as well. Love mine.

I went to look into these a little more and one of the first things I found was a thread you made on Thumper Talk, haha.

Anyone planning on buying anything over $50 on revzilla? I got a $20 off over $50 coupon code today from Rever as a promo now that they're both owned by the same holding company.

    upload_2021-2-4_15-4-22.jpg

I have no idea if it's 1 time use, or tied to my email, or what, but I don't plan on making any big purchases in the new while. I bought a shitload of components to build a new PC and it's quickllyyyyy gotten out of hand haha.

Feel free to use, if it is 1 use good luck to whoever uses it first.

Looks like it’s tied to your email. I just tried it and it comes up as “invalid for your order”.
Either that or someone used it already. Haha.
    Thanks though, Spencer!

Dang, I tried! Sorry it didn't work.

You don't normally see deals like that for Revzilla.

Congrats, my brother is in Pflugerville and just built a house. If you follow MotoGP COTA is an amazing track and fun time in April for the weekend event.

    Random question.....

What's your plus/minus on your tire pressure? I guess cold pressure would be more specific. Check mine religiously before riding....:anonymous:

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
Same. I can't ride unless I've checked it. I set mine to whatever it says on the chain guard. 29 and 34 I think.

Depends on the bike. My vintage Honda CB400F calls for 29 but I generally go 30. My Buell calls for 36 but it cups the front tire really bad if you run that. I go 38 front and rear. FJR manual calls out I think 36 but every owner I know runs 41-43 to avoid cupping the tires. All these are cold pressures and normal street riding.
What bike are you on? Off road or unpaved use? Track days? Passenger on bike?
No offense intended but your question is just too vague as asked.

I just went out for a scoot on the Ninja. 27 degrees! That’s a new record for me.

I have a double insulated Alpinestars jacket so my core was actually warm. I am sold on the quality of that gear, and now I know why it’s so expensive. It truly works.

None taken. I figured it might be.

My sporty says 30 front, 40 rear. If I’m within 2psi I don’t worry about it. Either there’s no difference, or my inexperience doesn’t let me notice. I only ride pavement. Certainly no track riding. :D

I guess I was just wondering if everyone is looking to be on point with psi or like me, if it’s within 2psi let it go.

But I guess as you mentioned, different bikes and terrain would dictate that.

So maybe I should’ve asked, what’s your over/under psi for day to day road riding?

my rides are short and slow, I basically only use the bike around town and around some surrounding areas...
because of this, I ride a lower pressure.
if my rides where longer I would run spec pressure or maybe one or two psi above
the amount of time you ride will have an impact on tire temperatures, the longer your ride the more heat you can put in the tire
my rides are short, not much heat generated so I ride a lower psi...

I think my science is correct, perhaps someone can argue this?? I listen/read a bunch of the stuff Dave Moss puts out there so that is where I picked this up.

when I spray detail the bike, clean the wheels and chain, I usually check pressure at that time

aside from that I just swing a leg over and ride my 5 miles to the office :anonymous:

On my daily when I'm off road I can safely air down to 25/25 F/R without worrying about heat or a pinch flat, so if I'm a few pounds short for my commute from where I'll set it for a longer ride at 36/42ish I'm not concerned at all. I'll generally check it if I know I'm going for a longer ride, just in case, otherwise I can feel when the front gets lower, it'll start to get real vague and not want to turn in as easily and I'll add air then. Like @uurx , when it's bath time I'll check pressures too.

For the CB750, which I only ride every couple months, I check that before every ride.

Id run air pressure that the tire can use. Not over inflated or under. I wouldnt use lower pressure because the rides are shorter.

Lower air pressure obviously effects turning/tire rolling. Theres just not anything to gain on the street running a low pressure. A typical street tire isnt going to be affected much by heat cycles as much as say a slick either.

What year Sporty and what tires? I spent almost 16 years working for a HD dealership and I know on the 19" and 21" tires they used to call out 36 cold. On the stock Dunlop tires they came with then that was okay. With my primary ride being my FJR and this being the second one of those I'm fairly attuned to just how that bike should feel. I've had my best tire life and handling running dual compound sport touring tires primarily the Michelin PR2. That tire on this bike seems happiest at 42 psi cold. I ride 2 up quite a bit and do long distance rallies putting on more that average miles per year so I consider myself a little fussy when it comes to tires. I need good wet weather performance as well as being sticky in the twisties. 2 psi is unlikely to feel substantially different on the street. Usually I'll notice if it feels low when I first take off and the tires are still cold. When this occurs I normally find I'm down closer to 4 psi.

Keep an eye on the tread wear and pay attention if it starts to scallop or cup that's a sign your pressure is too low. If caught early enough a 2 psi bump up can straighten it out if caught in time. Rear tire tread seldom does this as the cornering forces and braking are greater on the front tire than the rear.
