Sena messed up and sent me the wrong replacement piece for my headset. So now I've got this Helmet Clamp Kit for a SMH10 that I have no use for. Normally it's about $35, but if anyone wants it, I'll give it to you if you just pay shipping or pick it up. It's not the whole SMH10 system, but the speaker and boom microphone piece only.

Are they sending you the correct piece also? Cause if they don't want it back I'll take it

I'm torn. I ride 60/40 street/dirt. What i have is an AFX FX39. The pads are worn down enough that the helmet is now loose. The chin strap has never been tight enough. I do not like the ratcheting strap. Its very well ventilated but i still sweat like a pig in it. And it is extremely loud over about 50mph. The wind noise is absolutely terrible.

I want a quiet badass looking street helmet. But i like wearing my goggles, i like having all the ventilation, i like that mine was on the cheaper side because i'm not afraid to ride in the woods in someone's roost like a maniac. With a street helmet, i'd give all that up.

I do like the flip down sun visors that some new helmets have...much better than sunglasses, i hated riding with sunglasses.

I took a sledgehammer to my old Fulmer Dalton Hwy dual sport helmet (the one i had my big crash in) and i was surprised how easily it was broken...i wouldn't mind having something much tougher. But it was my first helmet...and it was only $89.99 new i believe

It's going to be difficult finding something that's quiet and flows a lot of air for obvious reasons. Have you looked at a Bell Mx9 adventure? It's built so that you can wear goggles under the visor with it closed iirc

If/when I get another dual sport helmet I'm planning on getting the Bell MX-9. I've heard great things about them for their price range.

Honestly for as much dirt as you ride just stick with a mx style helmet. The street helmets are horrendous in the woods for heat and just not being able to breath. But they are worlds quiter at highway speeds. Invest in some decent earplugs and the noise won't be an issue anymore.

As for pads those can be replaced typically. I know all my helmets have replaceable pads.

Not sure what you mean ratcheting strap. My gmax helmet has the dual d ring for tightening.

Get tinted goggles and just wear them all the time. You get used to it, I rode with my tinted visor at night plenty

This type of strap is what helmets seem to be going to. They have to be pre adjusted and you just lock them down every time you put it on. I'm not crazy about it. Mostly because mine has never been tight enough and there is no way to lock it to the helmet lock.

I seriously do not get down with ear plugs. I just do not like it inside the helmet. I wear them all day for work and then really don't want them in my helmet. I do have those plug phones ear buds that are decent but again i'm still not 100% comfortable with it.

I've seen it on more and more helmets recently. So who knows
