Right on! You get to see why folks love the bikes. The platform (Tonti frame and Carcano motor) is so easy to work on.

In this follow up video he runs it, and you hear that awesome 90 degree V pulse. These bikes are visceral. you feel and hear every component...and at around 4500 - 6000, they're sublime. Torque on tap the whole way through.

    https://youtu.be/CktQ1B1s350

Thanks for pointing me to that. Hadn't seen it.

I was thoroughly disappointed last night after watching the first video and not getting to hear the final work.

Thank you for coming through today

Wanted to see how feasible it would be to ride the bike to a little swimming/wading spot in Fort Valley about 20 miles from my house. Put a pair of swim shorts, wading shoes, and towel into the backpack and... it worked okay, but getting motorcycle gear back on while "damp" is a bit of a pita... ‍ I might have almost toppled over more than once... upload_2021-7-17_12-35-16.gif

I went out last night, but it was pretty hot. Today too. It's in the 90's, plus humidity. Not comfortable riding without armour, but even with mesh was too hot.

In the 90s here….”feels like” was closer to 100. But I haven’t had time to ride, so screw it! :ballchain::bananadead:

Had a nice ride today out and around some country roads until I learned the hard way that loose gravel driveways are not my friend. Luckily I was just trying to turn around and was only going 3-4 mph but as soon as my front wheel turned slightly it washed out and I was dumped over on my side.

The frame sliders and barkbusters took the brunt of the scraping but it also landed right on my shift lever and snapped the end of it off. I was at least able to ride home just barely catching the end of the lever with the corner of my boot.

Now I'm just pissed I need to get a new shift lever before I can do any more riding.

Bummer. Time to find a shift lever with a folding tip!

So the story is, I’ve got a buddy that is a a few years older. Early 70’s. Only rides Guzzi’s and has been riding them for over 50 years. Knows Em inside and out. They don’t change much. Basically glorified tractors.

he had a very serious accident about 6 weeks ago, on his oldest machine. ‘74 Eldorado. Old Police bike. Think Dirty Harry. Messed him up really well. He’s been laid up since. Just starting to hobble around, getting pins and rods removed…fun stuff.

Anyway, according to his wife my bike’s blown carrier bearing has had the unexpected benefit of making him feel needed because I keep calling him, he keeps telling me to come up to his place and grab this tool or that tool, let him have a look, etc. Today a couple of us decided to roll up on bikes (all Guzzi’s) and restock his garage fridge (the case of beer) Weather was perfect, beautiful day to be out, and actually got work done on the repair.

    Good stuff.
