Entirely up to you and I truly do hope you remain safe. I've hit a whitetail deer and gone down back in 2002 and was just hit head on by a driver making an illegal left turn in September of 2019. Beyond that I've got close to 250k miles under my wheels and will never ride without gear.

if you jump from an airplane and fall belly to earth with arms and legs out, you'll stop accelerating at ~120mph due to the force of drag equaling that of gravity.
I guess that means at 120mph you'd have about 1G trying to pull you off the bike so kind of like hanging from the ceiling?

Maybe shouldn't go triple digits with a passenger.

 

Those varying laws are funny. I started lane splitting pretty much from day one and when I talk to people from other states where it isn’t allowed they look at me like I’m a maniac. I was recently in AZ and they don’t have a helmet law and when I saw a group riding without helmets I was all, “What if they fall down go boom?”

 

It’s definitely it’s own skill.

 

I had that thought today when a few riders went past without helmets in Moscow, ID. They don't have a helmet law in Idaho, either. Its just weird to me.. I never rode my bike as a kit without a helmet, not going to ride something capable of 10x the speed without one either.

Man I remember reading this and looking at a ton of ride 2 die shit before I started riding, more so that I could prepare myself and acknowledge the risks of what I was doing.

I was almost brought to tears reading that. ATGATT!

 

My girlfriend asked why I insisted she gear up in order to ride with me. She almost got sick reading it. Never asked again. We got hit head on 2 years ago on vacation and she actually thanked me for getting her decent gear and making her wear it.
