I went to put up my motorcycle for sale and noticed Craigslist is now charging $5 for a post….what gives?!?!?

 

Yep, they charge for vehicles and motorcycles now in the FSBO section. Bummer!

Been experimenting a bit for a couple of years. Started out using a chain brush and kerosene to clean, followed by a chain wax. Worked just fine but the amount of wax spray that got wasted irked me. Then I read that brushing wasn't good for the O or X rings. And the lube video convinced me to try gear oil rather than wax. My current regimen (10,000+ miles) is to spray with kerosene and wipe with a rag (twice if it's real grimy), then paint the gear oil on. So far, everything looks good, it takes less time, and it's super cheap!

Welcomed this beauty home over the weekend. I’ve always had a thing for temperamental Italians.

 

So I'm headed to Charlottesville, VA, next week and I'm going to trailer my bike with me. Anyone recommend some days trip routes out that way?

 

Don't know the Charlottesville area real well but Rt. 231 between Madison and Sperryville is nice! Rt. 211 from Sperryville, over the mountain, to Luray is crazy! The fun stops at the bottom of the mountain on the Luray side, though...

 

thats why people are posting bikes for sale in the motorcycle parts page. Its only vehicles I believe

 

I figure it also helps weed out the scammers. I used to notice a bunch of bikes go up for sale with the same two line descriptions “runs great, pink in hand” but no other details. Not so much anymore.

I had one of those sweet teas today. Delicious! I don’t ever look through the motorcycle parts section unless I am looking for a cheap dirtbike. Yeah it sucks paying the $5 but it’s worth it to sell a bike.

 

Anyone ever ride a triumph speed four?

Ah, that makes sense! I do kind of miss them because the sentence structure and word choice was often entertaining to read!

Anyone ever reply to those with ridiculous questions? Or offer them a third party, slightly burned, but still pretty legible cashier's check? lol

 

I think this was also started to cut down on dealers listing bikes. I know in my area some of the smaller independent dealers were loading up the local CL ads instead of building their own websites.
