I have already fallen down it before even looking into it.
I think if I do swap it I will probably go with a dirtbike engine.

It would be fun but I would want something that would be less maintenance.

This. I know nothing is going to be as reliable as a stock grom engine but I don’t want to swap a high strung motor into it.

i think what he was implying with the grom is just the oil change procedure, lets just say its not as easy and quick as a simple drain plug and filter...

as reliable as they are... cant take that away from any honda really

Plus maintenance intervals. If you're going from a Grom with 5K+ mile (I'm guessing?) or 1 yr intervals to a 2 stroke dirtbike engine with OCI's measured in hours you're most likely servicing it way more frequently.

Why did you do a engine swap in your Grom they ask. Because the stock oil screen cleaning is a pain

Once you do all the engine parts your motor is a ticking time bomb.

Fun fact: the actor that plays Jesse (Chad Lindberg) worked for my Dad years and years ago when he was in high school. I remember talking to him in the parking lot of the store (Robert's Red Apple in Mount Vernon, WA) where he used to work for us right after The Fast and the Furious came out and him telling us how bizarre the role was because he didn't know jack shit about cars, like, at all.

About ten years ago we met up with him in Disneyland, heres him, my dad, and I on Space Mountain:
