I'm debating installing a heated seat for this year.. mmm toasty

Hardest part would just be re-stapling the seat cover when I was done. Electrical parts easy and the kits are cheap.

I'll do the same if Polaris can deliver my new scoot fully assembled. They are non committal at this point. Seem certain it will be delivered to the dealer by December 15th, but say there might be components missing due to supply chain blah blah blah. To be dealer installed at a later date.

I definitely recognize your complaint, but I noticed before I had them that the cold/wind would really affect the feeling in my fingers and make them less dextrous when grabbing the brake or clutch.

with the heated grips, i haven't noticed that issue at all even on a 45min ride on the freeway at night. granted, where i live doesn't ever get that cold, so i'm sure if i lived somewhere colder the benefits would be much less and i'd need a more effective solution. but it's enough to keep my fingers warm and nimble so far. they're more so for that purpose than keeping my entire hand warm.

the back of my hands can go eff themselves

Based on your location heated grips should suffice for most if not all of your riding. I ride pretty much year round so long as no snow on the roads or the crap PA treats our roads with. Seen single digit temps some mornings on my ride to work, about 10 miles, so heated gloves for the win.

Got bored at work, said fuck it, ordered a heated seat insert for $17.99. Figure $30 for a pneumatic stapler and I get a heated seat for under $50, whoop whoop.

I prefer hand guards, personally. And some gloves with good feel and not too grippy OR too slippery. That’s the hardest part for finding gloves for me. Can’t try anything on, have to order, but even if you can try on in store you can’t exactly ride around for a bit and see if they stick on your clutch and break it slip too much and make it choppy ha.

I tend to always cover the brakes/clutch with at least a finger or two so heated grips leave at least one finger numb of cold. Breaking the wind off my hand does more for me with hand guards to keep finger dexterity for a bit.

As long as it’s above freezing (wind chill included) I ride but unfortunately in South Dakota minimum 6-7 months are well below freezing, mostly below zero by a good bit as well…

the gloves are definitely a big part of it. I think I bought and returned about 5-6 pairs on revzilla before I found some that I really liked. Actually just splurged on an excessively expensive pair I've wanted for a while (Knox Handroid Pod MK4) as a reward to myself for some recent success at work, so i'm hoping they live up to my expectations lol

Hm i do usually cover the brake and clutch with 2 fingers each (unless i'm freeway/highway cruising with no cars around), but don't notice the cold as much with them anymore. maybe just placebo lol. but i'm happy with it.

handguards are nice. i just can't stand the way they look on anything but dirtbikes.

I'm just glad i'm fortunate enough to live in a pretty mild climate haha. my functional requisites have a much lower bar.
