Yeah. I figured “same frame, same mounting points”. I was way off. I had a pile of parts at home from the street bob that were ready to go on and was surprised that most of them didn’t swap over easily. Some required cutting and grinding and some were a hard no-go. Bummer but the only thing left over is this seat that I figured would be easier to sell.

I’ve seen quite a few kits out there

This one is pricey but looks well worth it,

    https://motorcycle-training-concepts.myshopify.com/products/resq-kit

One thing I worry about, is people running kits but not knowing how to use them. I fully admit, I am not an EMT and have basic first aid training but some of these kits are advanced and who has time to read the directions?

I think a class and building out an IFAK is probably a better option.

I agree. It’s not the advice most people like and I don’t mean to start a debate here but I always tell people to add something to their Trauma Kit once they have the training to use it. Only know how to apply pressure? That’s fine, get some Gauze and Coban and you’re set to help with 80% of injuries a laymen can help with anyway.

I took a lot of medical training, during the Marine Corps days and a lot after, and even after all that my kits are all self-made and pretty sparse. I have just as much for vehicle entry/removal as I do for patching a person up or protecting myself.

    Roughly my kit is just
    Gauze and Coban
Gloves, eye pro, breathing mask for CPR

    Tourniquet

Couple knives for glass breaker, seatbelt cutter, safe clothing cutting

    more Gauze and Coban.

Don’t carry all the quick clot and fancy stuff any more. Did I mention gauze and Coban?

I was blown away by the price of his kits. I generally carry a basic first aid kit and fully admit I need to upgrade.

a kits as only good as the education IMHO.

starts looking at classes in the area as I type this.

Nothing in that kit requires much more than a 10min walk through and some common sense. That said you are absolutely right, it’s all worthless without some training.

I’m not a doctor or EMT/FF, just a crusty old soldier that doesn’t forget good training.

A couple years ago I rolled onto a scene with a rolled SxS and two passengers ejected that were in pretty bad shape. Nobody there knew what to do. When I took charge of the scene they were fading fast. Even running on 10yr old training, I was able to stabilize both victims and get them prepped for their helicopter rides off the mountain.

In my opinion, the best thing you can do for yourself and those around you is to get some first aid classes under your belt and make it second nature. If you are in the back country, take a class that suits that environment. Practice some of the basics to control bleeding, splint fractures, treat burns, clear and maintain an airway, CPR/rescue breathing, identify and treat for shock are good starters.

I never buy pre-made haha if you price out the 20-80% in there you’d actually need and buy it individually it’ll be half the cost or maybe even 1/10th.

We got basic first aid training being on boats and all hit I could definitely use a class.

started looking at the AMCross ones to see what are a available.

Looking at that kit, easy 20 minutes in a CVS minus the splint and tourniquets.

    who needs patches?

Who needs patches?!? Do you even tacomabro? What else would you wreck your headliner with?!?!

Our local REI hosts a good back country first aid and a backcountry forest responder class. Might be something like that in your area.

The basic military first aid training will get you further than most folks on the street. As said above, if all you know is applying pressure, do it, that alone can save a life.

I agree that kit is some simple shit you can grab at CVS for way cheaper.

Beyond the basics in that kit, my bag also has:

    Sharp tip tweezers
    Self stick ace bandage
    moleskin
    athletic/bandage tape
    Bacitracin
    PJ Masks bandaids
    Tums

Also carry some other shit you shouldn’t play with without proper training.

WFA... Wilderness First Aid is the same as the refresher course for WFR.. Wilderness First Responder. WFA courses are very appropriate for backcountry travel by foot, bike, moto or 4x4. Widely available for raft guides, ski guides, etc. Building out a simple kit is usually covered.
