Christmas gift to myself - charcoal colored Motofloor garage floor tiles. Picked them up on sale at Costco for $100 per box. My garage is a little less than 600 sq feet.. It took 12 boxes total and I have plenty of spares left over. Installation was relatively easy but somewhat time consuming because I am a perfectionist when it comes to these types of projects. Overall, I am very happy with how it turned out.

@spencermarkd or anyone else have a suggestion on a fuse block? I was researching Eastern Beaver, but also open to others. Or would a standard blue sea one work?

I'm not really of any help on this one. BMW world mostly uses Hex ezcan and another one I can't remember the name of because of the canbus system and it playing nicely with it.

You could use a blue sea one, but that'd be pretty large compared to the moto specific ones I've seen, that'd be the biggest down side aside from maybe ingress protection and vibration protection being a bit lacking, too.

The eastern beaver looks like a decent product in the two or three minutes I just spend on their website. Especially since they have bike specific harnesses. That always makes life easier.

Actually I have no idea what Im looking at for Eastern Beaver. And probably not going with a blue sea fuse thing (even though they offer a 4 option).

What about this? Im thinking all should be switched, so I dont forget to turn something off. What Im not getting, is does each one need a switch? then Id have a bunch of switches all over the place if Im adding a few things. Someone should make a little pad for 4 switches

    Thanks!

I looked into professionally installed epoxy but it was more expensive and I would have had to rent a POD unit to hold all of stuff while the epoxy cured, which could take up to several days. Plus, I read a lot about hot tire burn with epoxy and how it is hard to patch/repair. With the tiles, you just snap the damaged tile out and then pop in a new one. I also like that I can pull the tiles up and take them with me should we ever decide to move.

I have 8 inch x 8 inch squares of 3/4 plywood to put jack stands on so they don’t create impressions in the tiles.

The Motofloor brand is made by Racedeck for Costco using some of their older tooling. The quality is slightly lower than the newest line of Racedeck brand name but the cost is substantially lower, especially if you catch them on sale at Costco.

Yeah they’re just power distribution, so instead of every accessory running to the battery terminals it runs to the PD block.

One of the nice things about the programmable CAN based systems is you can use factory switches to control things.

Someone’s gotta make a switch panel controller, I just haven’t done much looking.

Realistically what are you looking to add? A set of aux lights? usb outlet? heated gear? It may be few enough things that power distribution is overkill.

Edit: this is kind of cool from Denali: https://denalielectronics.com/colle...ts/dialdim™-lighting-controller-universal-fit

controls two sets of lights from one dial along with some other functions.

I'd love to add one more - that fancy SV650 you picked up a few months back. Let me know when you're ready to part ways with it.

I don't have CANbus. But yes those things, probably minus heated gear. I think i saw a picture where 3 accessories were too many for the battery, in terms of clutter

Eastern beaver or the denali you linked would both help you clean up the wiring. Doesn’t seem like you’re putting all the much on the bike though so you don’t need something massive.

Check out ADVRider and see what people have done on there, I bet there’s at least a few threads. Since you don’t have can bus you should be able to follow almost any bike guide for accessory wiring.

That appears to be the one!

I've put the brakes on buying more bikes at the moment. Market is too steep and it takes quite a bit of effort to find a good deal. The only exceptions would be a Ducati 1098 or the Paul Smart Classic that I passed on a few years back.
