Yea, there isn't much public land left. West coast people have all kinds of public OHV stuff they can ride on whenever they want to. They don't know what it's like.

Man if somebody offered straight trade for an FZ-07 I don't know if I could pass it up. It's going to take a lot of willpower for me not to go buy one as soon as this thing is paid off.

I will always have a street legal dualsport, just too convenient.

But if i could keep my 0% apr and sign for a new sv650, it'd take a lot for me not to do it. The only concern would be having two motorcycle insurance bills.

I just keep telling myself i don't need it. That i need to keep modding and saving.

Logs and rocks across an entrance is hardly a "trap" if it is indeed private land. Same thing as a fence really in the grand scheme of things.

If it's private land then they have the right to limit access however they want.

I wish Yamaha and Honda would do deals like that. They only ever seem to do 0% for only the first few months which doesn't really save you anything.

I keep going back and forth on getting something like a 2007+ Yamaha FZ6. Be both a good commuter bike and some occasional high speed stuff. Only $4k at most, but that would cut into my future truck plans....

 

Not at an entrance. Randomly placed in the middle of the trails. You'll just be going along and shit is randomly placed. No signs. No gates. No fences.

 

The way he described it "rocks hidden in the tall grass" sounds like a trap to me!


Not true, I can't put claymore so a pit fall in my front yard to keep people out. Putting rocks on a trail especially where they aren't easily seen before somebody hits them and goes flying is fucked. A sign would be easier too, it probably is actually legal for him to ride there ( public right of way as @AR15xAR10 said) but they don't want people to for selfish reasons.

 

I wouldn't have went new if the deal wasn't so good.

I'm just still pissed i spent $800 on the extra 5 year warranty that i voided when i put the fender eliminator on.

 

They probably are still the best radiator guard option for our bikes, doesn't make them great though.

 

The rocks in the grass should not be confused with the prior conversation as it was an entirely different area.

I'd rather stop talking about it before we end up with Motorcycle BS 3.0

 

Devol is the only other i've seen, and they look cheap as fuck

I'm glad I went new. Will probably never buy a used dual sport/dirt bike unless it's completely stock. They get trashed so fast.

It took me a lot of restraint to not laugh at my dealer's ridiculous "warranties" when they were describing their different options. Total ripoff.
