I went to buy a bike once and the guy said it had a clean title. Nope! Freaking salvage. Thanks @FreshOldTaco for having a clean title. Would have sucked if I flew all that way.

I have yet to find a tire that does well in the snow haha I feel your pain. This was what it looked like when I came home from work tonight. I'm amazed I didn't crash, slid probably 200' with my back tire locked up on a downhill into a stoplight. Luckily at the approach to the light cars had melted it some and I could stop. I spent half the ride standing and the other half with my left leg outrigging and my right foot dragging the rear to keep it from coming around when I gave any kind of gas.

Came home to walk the dog at lunch and when I left it had baaarely started to snow, just little flakes. Thought huh, maybe I should take the 4Runner back in, but nah, it wasn't supposed to snow today, it'll stop :facepalm:Then this afternoon I had 3 back to back meetings where I just sat and watched it snowing, and then snow harder, and harder, finally it stopped about 4 and I left at 4:30 so I could get home before it got dark and froze more. 26 degrees and wet ground made it like an icy slush messsssss.

    2/10, do not recommend.

I think a Dual Sport on sticky 90/10s might be my all-time bike I miss the most (and will likely replicate again)!

Friend of mine here in PA studs his tires using hex head sheet metal screws threaded into the blocks of his knobbies. I know it takes him several hours per tire installing all of them and then constant vigilance to replace them as they come out or wear down too far.

Haha, definitely have made that mistake before. Four days ago I took both my bikes out for a couple hours each on a sunny 60* day. Today there is 6" of snow on the ground. Typical bipolar Colorado weather.

Guess who got a call from their Honda deallllerrrrrrrr!

Navi is going on a truck today, should be in Pullman, tomorrow, and then I'll pick up Friday or Saturday. Sounds like about $2400 OTD after taxes/plates.

    :goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy::goingcrazy:

Edit: it's also like 24 degrees out and we're supposed to get another 2-3" of snow tonight soooo might be a while before I ride it haha

Holy shit, haven’t seen one of those since the 70’s. I remember I sent away for some brochures on the Dunecycle.

What do you wear on quick rides around town @spencermarkd ? I dont want to suit up if Im just going to meet @4x4Runner at starbucks  Obviously jacket and gloves, but jeans? or maybe I should get dirt pants?

Also, Im kinda thinking about getting dirt boots. Not that I dislike my Forma Adventure tall boots, I see videos of people wearing Alpinestars Tech 7 and 3 online. But they also might be doing more aggressive riding than me. I think Im hyping myself up, thinking I can do this :der:

@uhplifted told me he got some Tech 7 that match his KTM

Not @spencermarkd but I use zip off over pants for most of my riding. Warm weather it’s Revit mesh pants and colder/wet it’s Aerostich Darien’s. Wear whatever you want underneath and take them off at your destination. Way better protection than just jeans at the expense of 30 seconds on each end to put on or off. Sometimes I just throw in the one piece Klim suit which is just about as fast.

Riding to work I wear my work boots, anything else I wear Forma Adventure low boots. Summer time I often wear shorts and a T-shirt under my gear and have flip flops on the bike so when I arrive I strip down and walk away like a normal looking person.

i'm not the one you tagged...

but i am an ATGATT kinda guy, but loosely.

IE: I always wear my helmet, jacket and gloves. Boots, are always more casual sneakers that are still safety rated but don't look as technical. Dainese and TCX have both served me well for this purpose. Pants, I usually wear my Speed and Strength or Rokker Jeans, with D3O armor in the knees and hips so it's protective but subtle. They look like casual normal jeans, but i'm always dressed for the slide.

Usually carry a pair of Dainese rain pants I can slip on if it's gonna get wet

I tagged Brian because he still texts me often, even though he got banned.

I just got Tourmaster Alpine jacket and pants, but theyre too bulky if Im just going around town. Also I dont want to put the pants on for a quick ride because it takes me a while to get them on haha. Still a noob at that part. I will if Im going on a longer hour+ ride that is farther away from home.

But as of current, I only have full gear/boots, nothing less that is decently safety rated. I suppose I could ride in vans, but it might look weird on my adv bike. Although on short trips, I have just worn jeans, tall boots, and my jacket. Im not looking to replace the jacket or gloves or helmet, but looking for an alternative for pants/boots. Also not necessarily dirt boots for around town.

I dont have any luggage yet, so I cant "carry" anything with me. Probably leaning towards a soft bag setup from Giant Loop or Kriega for luggage. I do want the Tusk small tank bag so I can carry small things. The jacket I have has so many pockets, I might not even need a tank bag for a while!

A hard case like a Pelican on the back will fit pants, jacket and gloves easily with a bike cable lock through the frame for my helmet. On my GS I had side case I’d stash my boots in if needed. A lot of the time I’ll just keep wearing the boots because they aren’t obvious with pants over the top and fairly comfortable. My bikes now don’t have side cases so it’s either keep wearing the boots or set them under the bike and hope nobody walks off with them.

On my crf250. Was on my KLR and GS before this bike. Similar sized case is on my 1250R as well.
