So I tossed my Kriega OS-12 on the back of the Navi the other day in the garage and thought huh, that looks pretty good. Went to order some subframe straps to secure it in place as a tail bag today, and one thing led to another and I ordered a US-5 drypack instead.

Normal price, Revzilla is $105 on it, Revival had it on sale for $71.20 and free shipping. Not sure if I'll use it as a tail bag or try to use it as a tank bag or what, but I may have a soft luggage systems problem :anonymous: Plus it comes with the straps I need to hook the OS 12 onto the Navi, which would have been $24 shipped for just those, so basically I got the bag for $48 right?

Once I make a tail rack, ill be putting my US-5 there. I like the storage capacity of that bag.

Let me know if you're interested in the piece that can make it a tank bag.. The Africa Twin tank is oddly shaped and not flat like the scrambler, so i dont have a use for it anymore.

The prices are like used cars.. going up. Im keeping mine for a long time. It hits all of my boxes, and now I have alot invested in it.
From what Ive read, the 16-19 you need to beef up suspension because its lacking. A good thing is that you have a dedicated ABS off button. Plus with 2020+ you get updated electronics and apple car play. And they upped the cc's to 1100, and not 1000 like the earlier ones. The 2022s are not even released in the US yet. Probably not until April at least.

Every time I convince myself that I'm fine with thumpers for 50/50 riding and I don't need a modern T7 at all, not one bit, they go and do something like this . . . They really listened to most complaints about the previous version and updated what it needed most. The color scheme isn't horrible either. I'd get pretty tired hanging off the side at every stop going to and from work though haha it'd become that bike I might totally maybe take a trip on someday . . . unfortunately. Fair price as well, if you ask me, anyway.

Stock plate bracket and turn signals vs $25 “universal” Amazon tail tidy and $15 LED turn signals for the Navi.

I need to fab a quick plate (literally 1/8” x1” bar stock with 4 nuts welded onto it) to go between the stock mount and the “universal” mount and slap her on. So excited! It’s going to look so much better.

I know the correct number of bikes if often touted as n+1, however, I think I’m settling in to the real world goal number being 3.

One can always be taken apart or worked on as long as you want because you have others to ride.

You have a small commuter (or off roader) that doesn’t have to compromise to be light and fun.

And one back highway bike that doesn’t have to sacrifice being smooth on the highway in order to be a nice light commuter/explorer.

Real world, no daydreams or I wish I wish if only, just what you’d very practically be content with and not find yourself saying, man, if I added one more to the quiver it would fill a need these ones don’t fit, what would your number and lineup look like?

I have my 3 in mind, but this Indian is expensive haha. I’m debating buying all 3 bikes I want and having cash left over after the sale of this one… but man this thing rides smooth ha. Trying to avoid that n+1 mentality and live in practical reality.

End game, I think I’ll take my 3 for life over 1 at a time :D

That sounds like a good plan. I had a similar thought process - spend X on one really nice bike, or get a couple cheaper ones and have some variety.
