Im not sure. I think stock was 525? The skid is aluminum, but the crash bars are steel. The shipping weight was 30lbs, so even with the box etc, maybe 555 as it sits?

Im starting to look for some lightweight gear. Havent had to do that, because with the truck, i just throw anything in and Im good.

Verdict on the Pan America - absolutely do not buy one if you live where the temperature gets above 75°. Your right thigh is positioned straight down the rear cylinder about an inch or two away and then there’s the exhaust tubing directly next to your calf and ankle. It gets incredibly hot as soon as there is no airflow pushing it behind you. Normally the bike runs at about 185-190°, that spikes to 220° as soon as you stop moving.

The suspension is smooth and handles well and it automatically lowers itself when the bike comes to a stop. Brakes are good enough but nothing to write home about. Partial throttle response is pretty bad with a lot of small bucking/jerking reactions when rolling off and on. Seat is comfortable for about the first hour and decent enough to keep riding after that but nothing great.

For the same price I’d buy a 1250GS every time.

That is pretty much the summation I have read and watched on it. Great concept, but needs some tuning.

    My tail got tidied!

And I realized that because of the goofy single turn signal indicator on the dash, I now need to wire in a couple diodes before I can convert the front to LED's, too. Whomp whomp. Replaced all 4 and got all of them flashing at once. Ugh. Put the incandescents back in the front and all's good again.

Y’all the navi is 110% an ADV bike. Check out this soft luggage setup. No rack required! 29 whole liters of storage, not counting the big compartment up front!

Throw some ice in the storage compartment and that’s your mini fridge for the trip!

not sure if it’s the same on the Navi, but on the Grom you can just swap the flasher relay to one fore LEDs and that’ll cover all 4 corners for led conversion. The grom has the relay easily accessible under the seat so it’s a stupid easy install. Might want to check where yours is before you go splicing a bunch of resistors in. Plus the relay is only a few bucks so it’s a cheap install too.

Funny timing, I made a video about swapping the flasher relay last night. It's not the relay that's causing it, it's how the dash light is wired. It's only a single light (instead of a left arrow or right arrow like on the grom). One lead is left positive, the other lead is right positive, the bulb basically grounds itself out on whatever leg isn't being used at the moment. Which is fine with incandescent, not enough to make that light up, with LED though it back feeds that entire circuit basically and all 4 lights flash at once. Solution is to put a diode in line with each side coming into that dash bulb, connect those two to one leg of the light, then ground it like normal instead of into the other circuit. The stock way of wiring it is bizarre as hell. Ordered some cheap diodes off Amazon that should be here monday and I have a bunch of leftover "honda" style plugs to make a plug in harness to go between the dash connection and not have to hack or cut into the real harness at all.

Here's that video if you're curious..

Oh, and I need to see if that compartment is waterproof or not! Might make a good cooler, you're right.

Eesh. Wonder why they did it that way. Glad you were able to figure it out though! Cool video!

awesome that you posted about the adventure Navi. I just watched a video for the T-Rex racing kit to put pelican cases on an “adventure grom”. Haha.

I already had the OS12’s, had them for a few years now. Bought them to put on top of my hard side cases for a long trip. Mostly just use one as a tail bag when I’m off road now.

The US 5 is the one I ordered the other day and got delivered today

I have no clue how I would fit on the grom with the t-Rex setup. At 6’3” I sit on the back half of the seat where they have the rack
