Look around on gear but don’t compromise on quality. I ride year round and am in the ATGATT group. I’d rather be mildly uncomfortable with gear than unprotected. I use Klim gloves but alpinestars is a solid company with years of experience backing their products. Colder temps I run my BMW ADV gear and thermals to stay warm with Klim hardanger heated gloves. I stay warm enough it’s not uncomfortable or wheee I compromise my ability to manipulate the controls.

warmer seasons I usually run my BMW hoody and Klim fifty2’s with my boots. The Klim pants are good and baggy enough I’m not rocking a moose knuckle but offer enough protection for road rash if I were to take a spill.

Why the fuck do you think I ride in 19* weather? Traffic and stupid gas prices.

Shoei makes a great helmet. My head is a intermediate oval shape and arai fits me better but I did look at the shoei’s and the brow was a little too much pressure for me.

    Great choice!

Yeah, got my eyes on a 390 Duke. Enough to scratch the itch a lifted taco cant hit, but not enough to let me be monumentally stupid.

    Oh, that’s a cute bike!

Yeah, no matter the displacement or HP/TQ rating, you can and will do hold my beer shit on a bike.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
That's what I am upgrading from, awesome first bike that is still fun as hell. I was just in need of something for my commute to work that isn't pinned in 6th gear to do 75-80 on the freeway with my fat ass plopped on top.

Hey, even yard camping in the RV can be fun. Particularly when one's mother in law shows up!

Last time I topped off my RV I stopped filling at $90! Lucky you don't live in California!

just need more seat time with a bike off road pavement, you'll get used to it, I think its harder going from street to dirt than dirt to street

Don't think he's talking about dirt. We're both slow there, plus his bike is double as expensive as mine

Im a slow rider on road. Dont they always say, "ride your own ride"

I felt the same when I first read the prices. A more expensive and hopefully more comfortable helmet will pay dividends in the end.

+1 to the quad lock. Got it on the DRZ, now in the truck, and picked up their golf cart mount for when I run my blue tooth hearing protection on the mower or power washer. Still need to get another vibration dampener for the golf cart mount. Saw how much the power washer vibrated and felt it was going to fuck up my phones camera.

I also have a dedicated nav phone now which makes life easier but I got a case for my main phone too.
