Yeah, it's a CVT transmission, so just twist and go. Super fun just bopping around town. I keep catching myself trying to shift though haha.

I may have broken my aluminum grunge brush letting it run in first :anonymous: I have a rekluse on, so in first clutch out at idle it just kind of purrs along, not full 1st gear speed, just the speed the clutch discs drag at. I got real lucky, no damage to the bike or me. Not doing that again.

We didn’t end up riding Sunday (rode all day Saturday & had a school work all day Sunday). But Sir… if thats your “pavement only” ride, you fooled me! Looked like a ton of fun. That “playground” reminds me of one of fortnine’s videos hah

Get another z125! I rode the grom to the store the other day, freaking love that stupid little thing. So funny seeing it in the parking lot.

They're not too popular on Craigslist. Maybe people like them so much.

I messaged a couple people with a Honda Metropolitan or Yamaha C3. I guess im lucky that new job is only 2.5 miles away. Still i don't want to drive the truck that short of a distance.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Haha, no worries. I had thought about posting it in here too but didn't want to sour the mood.

Anyway, word to the wise, be very careful when buying or in this case selling via online marketplace with unknown individuals. Since I got my new (to me) FZ-07 I had put my KTM Duke 390 up for sale on Offerup and Facebook marketplace. I had a guy who I talked with a couple days that wanted it, came to my house to look at it and had a very legit looking cashier's check. He apparently planned it out to be here just late enough the banks were closed because he knew when I did go to deposit it the next day that they were going to tell me that it was completely bogus.

So long story short, dude got my bike and I got a useless piece of paper in return. Reported to the cops and they say they listed it as stolen but they were hesitant to even do that because it technically wasn't even theft because I signed over the title. :anonymous:

Moral of the story, always do the deal at the bank or somewhere you can verify the funds are legit before you let it go.

I've always wanted to try out a grom, I imagine the cb feels like a big grom! It's the t-rex tidy, does the job for sure. I wanted the yoshimura one but things were sold out everywhere it seems last summer

Yup, parking brake. CVT doesn’t have gears to leave it in, so if you park on a hill it’ll roll. Eventually I plan to swap it out for a combo parking brake/left hand rear brake. This stock lever is so short and is too far away to reach easily.

I now have the itch for a Tiger 800 xc. Do you guys think this would be a good fit for me?

    Wall of text

Past rides include EX500, FJ09, 2 speed triples, FZ10, speed four, CRF450L. I loved the EX500 as a beginner bike but I didn't love the parallel twin after riding other bikes later on. I really liked the speed triples (still have one). The motors are just tractor torque with very linear power all the way form idle to redline. The FJ09 didn't have near the torque of the speedies, but wasn't necessarily lacking and had a much better top end. FZ10 was insanity on 2 wheels and I didn't really need that much. The speed four is very smooth and fun. Given the choice between it and the speedy, I'd probably pick the speedy most times.

The 450L was fun, I had fun exploring dirt roads but the thumper was very vibey, I wanted a bigger fuel tank, and didn't end up doing "hardcore" off road stuff with it. I don't have anyone with me 99.9% of the time so even if the bike was capable of doing some gnarly stuff.. I wasn't trying it with no help around.

The tiger 800 xc seems like a great bike... fit and finish of triumphs have always impressed me and I've found them to be quite robust and reliable after working out little nuances, and full of character. I haven't searched the tiger much but I'm expecting some weird but common problems to work thorough with the end result being a sorted rig. The specs on paper look good, power on par with the FJ until 7k rpm. Weight similar to Vstrom 650. Spoked wheels.

Want something that is comfy, does well on road, and can handle forest service roads/dirt roads, maybe mild trails out in moab or zion area.

welllllllllll. I'd like a 2015+, but 10-14 are a lot cheaper and I can live without cruise control. Not sure how important traction control is, on my FZ10 it was more of a wheelie control but off road is probably different.

I'm seeing 10-14 around 6-7k but 15+ are 9-10k. Worth the extra coin?
