Picked up a used 2012 street bob and the front cylinder is knocking after 2 months.

Pretty sure I'm about to lose a boatload of money over a shitty HD.

Thats what I get I guess, should have stuck to Japanese stuff.

I’m thinking about selling my 1250R and getting a 1250GS. Originally bought the R to have a more street focused bike but the more sport-like riding position is not good on my knees and back after about an hour. ADV style bikes don’t do that to me since my back is pretty upright and knees aren’t bent up and back to the pegs. Rode for about three hours yesterday and had to pop some Motrin after getting home.

What? 10-20 days to build after pulling from the crate? I've never heard of a dealership taking that long to finish a bike that's likely 90% or more complete as shipped.

    Happy early birthday!

Maybe they've got a backlog of bikes to build and that one is towards the bottom? That would be the only explanation I could think of.

I did lol still didn't make a difference. They also didn't sound to eager to make a sale. Which is starting to be a common thing at these dealers. Don't they make commission on sales?. Anywho pretty bummed out

O i know all they have to do is throw the bars on and check to make sure everything is torqued to spec.

The dealer that I was originally gonna get the bike from said they only have 1 guy that builds them from the crates. They have 4 full time techs. But only 1 for that.

I was gonna include that as another possible reason, that maybe their designated builder is out for a while, but wasn't sure if a moto dealer would really only have 1 person who builds them lol

I've called 4 different dealers and no one has 1. Well on the hunt again. Not how I wanted my weekend to go. But it's life and shit happens.

I can understand a dealership only having 1 or 2 people who uncrate and assemble new bikes but ANY tech worth their paycheck can easily handle the job. Incredible that they wouldn't just pull a tech and have them do it in order to make the sale.

damn, kinda sounds like when the Honda dealership took my $ for a deposit when they actually didnt know when they were getting a bike. It took me calling weekly asking for updates until I got the manager and threatened a chargeback, that they told me they really had no idea. Then I did do the chargeback when they didnt refund me my deposit in the 2 days that they said they would, and I drove 2.5 hours away to a dealership that had 2 on the showroom floor. I was going to work with a dealership in PA, but another person had a deposit when I was ready to give mine.

You will find something Matt. And only put a deposit if its refundable.

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
Yeah I think it even depended on your address within the county because I know my in-laws always registered their vehicles using my wife's grandma's address because there were no emissions required where she lives, even though it's only 20 miles North.

They do in fact have a 890r in stock just got off the phone with them. So I called the other dealer up to get my refund back. Guess I'm going to pa to get this bike.
