Shoutout for the high milers! Guzzi twins are also ridiculous in this regard. I know personally of a couple of 300K milers.

This bike rolled to 104,000 on the odometer last night, and I ride it hard and put it away wet every time I'm on it. Compression is excellent, burns no oil.

I like Guzzis. Not quite enough to own one but I do like them. Got a chance to take a LeMans 1100 home for a weekend once when I worked at a Harley dealership that we'd gotten in a trade deal. Fun ride, decent real world power but pretty bad shaft effect when you grabbed a handful of throttle. Took some getting used to. I love the styling of the Norge when it was being made. Similar to my FJR in that it's a really good looking sport tourer. Actually considered one at one point but reading horror stories about their electrical gremlins and no dealers close to me put me off. Solid engine design though.

Other than dirt bikes, almost all of my mileage is on Guzzi's so I don't notice that effect. The torque is the addictive character for these. And I only buy used. Until lately seemed every model was gonna have something to address...but once addressed, The bike will run forever. The Norge's are coming up at great prices these days. They're an easy bike to wrench on.

I've got 3 at the moment, might have 4 before the weekends out. That G5 in the photo, is the sleeper. Handles amazingly, dead smooth, even naked, well past 80. Aftermarket exhaust and ported heads give it a bit of punch. All I do is fluids and valves adjust, which is a less than 10 minute routine thing with these....

    None... yet.
Heading out in a few to check out the Speed Triple! Been reading up on the maintenance and already compiling a list of likely "needs" if I buy (apparently the needle bearings in the drop and drag links, swingarm, and wheel hub are worth checking out immediately and once a year after that!). Love the look and sound of these bikes but don't understand British rationale on some of this stuff!
