I can't imagine how badly my phone would be vibrating on a RAM mount, judging by how bad the phone shakes on the RAM mount in my truck when I'm offroading or even on a gravel/fire road.

Update - completed the service and we noticed the bike starting to misfire under acceleration. No codes popped and there’s oil behind the air filter in the air box.

I remember the rubber boot for both intake tubes slipping off when doing the spark plugs. You can see where I had paper towels plugging the hole they popped out of.A6B0C4AC-5F01-4C09-8ACE-2AAF3CD8FF07.jpg

I’m guessing #13 in the top pic or #7 in the bottom pic is to tight or to loose. Does anyone know why that would cause oil to make its way to the air box and misfire?

@spithead051 is selling his 09 access cab with TRD SC and 72k miles (btw, its on TW too). I told him he should raffle it. 130 people at $200/ticket gets him over what he wants for it.

Biggest selling point for me was the integrated turn signals. I have the Moons Tail light that has the same. I feel it cleans the bike up.
It’s funny, (from your other comment) I actually have a set of Amber S1’s I was going to try to figure out how to make work as Turn Signals. And here I thought I was doing something unique!

Seems like the logical source. Id keep an eye on bottom #9/10 as well as a potential source.

Things that I'd check for the misfire would be the boots going from the airbox to the throttle bodies or throttle bodies to head OR check and make sure that the fuel lines arent slightly pinched to where they'll run at idle but constrict at higher RPM's.

For the oil in the air box.. my f800 almost always has a bit of oil in the box when I do filter changes, pretty sure it comes in through the crank breather or the SAIS that is routed into the box for emissions or whatever. That'd be 9 in your lower picture.

where do hoses 14 go off the throttle body? Looking at the rest of the fiches I couldn't figure it out.

Also wild to me how different the air intake is for that compared with the F7/800 series. 16 and 22 in the upper diagram were the ones I originally warned about. Here is the 08-12 f800 fiches. super different.

Are you absolutely sure the valve cover gasket is sealed and not leaking? Quick Google search lead me to a F800 forum post about a very similar issue to this. Valve cover gasket hadn't 100% sealed and owner still had a small oil leak and some was being drawn into airbox. The clamps to the throttle bodies and the airbox could cause a slight misfire but that still wouldn't explain your oil being there.

Sweet !! Bought a 75 G5 100 brand new in March of 75 I believe, excellent bike, rode the wheels off of it, same color also. Then moved to KE 175, piece of garbage, rotary valve messed up, waited over 3 months for parts. After that went to the KE250, that was an excellent bike also. Enjoy !!

In the time we've had it we've taken it to many shows and I always enjoy hearing the stories of the people that had them when they were kids or in their younger years. It's so much fun for me (being 16) to have such a cool piece of motorcycle history from a time that I never experienced!

Do you by chance remember how much you paid for it new?? I've always wondered how much they went for off the showroom floor.

Man, that’s going back a whole bunch of years, maybe $500. Worked my ass off for every penny I saved to buy it, remember counting my money every Friday night to see if I had enough yet ! Bought it in Lake Villa Il, Nielsen Enterprises, last I knew, there still in business. Neighbor had a 74 G4 100, that had the dual range transmission in it, chrome fenders, he beat the snot outta of it, but it never let him down.

See for big ticket items, that are unique/rare, I can totally understand and support it. Same goes for brand-sponsored raffles as well, where they gift a product to a group and it gets raffled off.

what my "Friend" was doing was basically scalping PS5's, which I don't support.

Missed opportunity not going to Hyner View. Lot's of good riding up there though, explored most of that area for the Durty Dabbers and some in the truck on several occasions.

That little bar is actually a perfect out of the way spot for the quad lock though IMO.

[IMG]Untitled by Michael Halat, on Flickr

I still haven't found a spot I like on the husky yet. Currently have it mounted to the bar itself in the center but have smashed it a bunch and almost lost my phone when it ripped off and destroyed the quad lock mount.
