It would be yes but I can’t mount to it! The bar is way to skinny for the quad lock sadly!

This ^ The mirror mount is perfect and what I was running in that photo. My bars were pretty packed with shit or it would have interfered with how I like my clutch and brake cables pointed.

Anyone have experience with older(80’s) cb750’s?

saw my carb leaking what looks like mix of oil/gas. Seems to only happen if the weather is a bit hotter and definitely when I forget to turn the petcock off.

otherwise it runs great. Wondering how big of a concern this is(internet rabbit hole is worrying me).

How much oil and gas is it actually leaking?

Man there's so many things it could be.. I have an '81 CB750C.. and fair warning this will get rambly. I just finished a fantasy draft with my old college roommates and drank the better part of a six pack of pbr tall boys.

So oil shouldn't be getting into the carbs. Aside from blowing back through the head and valves, theres not really a path.. If there's oil mixing into the fuel leaks then that's two separate things. I see your overflow nipples don't have any hoses attached, so if you're needles aren't seating fully, which leads to overflowing the bowls when you forget to close the petcock, then the bowls leak out the nipples down onto the starter cover and the engine case, then mix with an oil leak in/around that area, that could give you your symptoms. Or, you could have a hold in your accelerator pump diaphragm that again, could lead to a fuel leak further down the line.

I rebuilt my carbs using a kit from Randakks cycle shack and a pdf from god knows where. I still have a printed copy out in the garage if you decide to rebuild. I took my time and it honestly wasn't terrible and since that kit and replacing overflow screws I haven't hard a carb leak since. Plus good shut down procedure, turn off the gas and let the bowls run dry if it'll sit for more than a week, etc. https://www.randakks.com/

Oil leak might be hard to track down.. there's a ton of places under the starter cover, primary cover, or transmission covers alone things could be coming from. If it's not forming solid drops, it might not be worth tracking down IMHO as someone who said fuck it and split the cases two summers ago. It's a 40 something year old bike, y'know. It would be worth it to remove the starter cover and the cover over the shift shaft just to see if you can visually see where its coming from.

Theyre heavy AF, too. My blocking slid out from under it at one point and it started rotating/falling. That SUCKED to heave it back up onto the dolly. I'm pretty sure it's physically larger than my old CRV's 4banger was lol

Dude thanks for this info. I’m worried it’s blowback. Not sure if compression would tell anything but numbers were good recently.

I guess I should track down where it’s exactly coming from it just seems coming off the carb. It’s definitely dripping off the carb.

not a ton leaks, that photo was after 5 hours of the petcock left on as I forgot. Otherwise it seems maybe a few drops.
