how everyone be in here? its been awhile since ive done any update on my klx400 rebuild and so far its going well the clutch issue i was having was what someone stated it being in here which was the cam for the push rod being out of adjustment (sorry i dont remember who you are but thanks!) now the only thing left is to fix a bolt that decided to take the threads out with it... and to shim the valves and then the bike will be good to go!

No title tho. I love how sellers that don't have a title make it sound like the process for obtaining a one is so easy. If that were the case why haven't they taken the time to do it, especially since it would allow them to increase their asking price. The reason is that it can ve very time consuming and there are no guarantees.

For these it's really not THAT bad. You're right, where the current owner should get it anyway and add a few hundred bucks to their asking price, but going vermont title route for this in particular is incredibly easy because 1) it meets the criteria for age and CC's where they don't issue new titles, just registrations and 2) it's under the cc limit to need an inspection. Mail off the paperwork and a check, wait six weeks, get your plate and registration, transfer it to yourself at the local DMV bingo bango bongo.

There are also states, like mine, where older motorcycles can be sold on a bill of sale and re titled after a vin check.

I think it’s 35 years or older and you are good. You also pay antique tag and tax.

 

Glad that's all it was! I only knew because I dealt with the same exact shit after I pulled my Rekluse and added an RSC clutch lever.

 

Ordered up some parts. Tech Spec tank pads, OEM enduro footpegs, and an OEM tall windscreen kit (which I'll probably trim down, since its 7" taller than the one that i have)

That specific shade of gold fork I guess makes up for the lack of gold wheels.. someday I'll own something with Ohlins haha

That’s who it was! I could have sworn it was you but I couldn’t remember haha but ya that’s all it was now it was a damn pain in the ass to get it right but it seems to activate like it use to now! So thanks man!

 

This is how much you have to disassemble the front end to get a 12v accessory in the stock location.

 

Not sure.. may get a revalve instead of replacing. Way later.

 

Oh yea, on the 16-19 is a huge pita. I have a dual usb 12v port that i want to put in. Just need that power distributor thing first.
